NBA Rundown–Oklahoma City Thunder Thump Milwaukee Bucks
17,000 fans at the Bradley Centre, witnessed a nail-biter between Oklahoma City Thunder and the Milwaukee Bucks. It was a close encounter as scores were equalized once with the lead changing hands on one occasion also.
Oklahoma City Thunder initialized the game with amazing game-play, strategy and speed. They managed to bag a few early points and materialized a formidable lead. They were able to astonish the audience with superb dribbling and precision shooting; however, the Bucks were not to be outdone on their home soil as they retaliated scoring repeatedly, after getting their bearings straight. The 1st quarter belonged to Oklahoma City Thunder who led the game by 26-19.
The scoring rate in the 2nd quarter dropped down considerably as both teams were focusing on defense rather than offense. This strategy worked wonders as both teams could not score at ease. The quarter ended with Oklahoma City Thunder leading the game 47-37. Same tactics were also applied in the 3rd quarter. The defensive strategy worked wonders for the Bucks as they only allowed 15 points to be scored against them. The Bucks, on the other hand, bagged 19 points, but were still trailing the game by 7 points. By the end of the 3rd quarter the Thunders were leading the game 62-56.
The last quarter was a neck-to neck battle as both contenders initialized their attack with all guns blazing. The Bucks made early progress with precision shooting, dribbling and passing, giving their respective spectators something to cheer about. The Bucks secured 25 points while their rivals managed 20 points. There were many episodes where the Bucks could have edged forward, but were denied because of some great defense and attack of James Harden, who emerged as the highest scorer for Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 23 points. Brandon Jennings of Milwaukee Bucks scored 25 points materializing as the highest scorer of the game. However, it was disappointment for the Bucks and their fans as they lost the clash by just 1 point.Harden commented at the end of the game:
“Playing with these guys, makes the game so much easier. We’re all young. We push the ball and have fun out there. Other guys can’t really do that.”
