NBA Season Preview – expectations and predictions (Part 1)
Miami Heat
Last year Miami Heat maintained 47-35 record but this was without the addition of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Mike Miller. With these players added to the roster they will surely increase their numbers in terms of wins.
The key subtractions from the Miami Heat roster are players like Michael Beasley who has been traded to Minnesota and Jermaine O’Neal who has gone to the Boston Celtics. This year they are expected to maintain a 65-17 record and finish
1st in the Eastern Conference.
One of the things to watch out will be when the Miami Heat will be going to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The response of the fans and how LeBron performs will make this match one of the most awaited matches until now. The match will take place
on the 2nd of December 2010 and LeBron is expected to silence his critics by scoring around 70 points during the game.
The fact that the team hasn’t been able to give the expected results during preseason would make the team more fired up. Chris Bosh, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade would be proving a point to the NBA world that they are the best and demolish
teams ruthlessly. Even if they don’t win the title this time out, they would surely win it next season however this season they are sure to give a tough time to the team that faces them in the NBA Finals that is of course if they qualify.
Orlando Magic
Last year saw the Orlando Magic come up with strong performances and so far this year has proven to be even better. During the course of the preseason, the team has won all of their matches, maintaining a 100% win record.
This year they have also added players like Quinten Richardson and Chris Duhon who would give them the diversity to become the top teams of the Conference. But the trade of Matt Barnes to the Los Angeles Lakers would affect their overall
performance.
Last year, the Orlando Magic ended the regular season with 59-23 and this year they would finish with 55-27. Along with this, they would be finishing 2nd in the Conference to the Miami Heat. Dwight Howard would
shine once again leading his team to victories and he will win the MVP award for the regular season.
The reason as to why the Orlando Magic can’t win the Conference though they might seem stronger is the fact that there star player Dwight Howard has still not been the stand out player. Though he is capable of doing so and the other reason
for this is that the Boston Celtics and Shaquille O’Neal’s hatred for Dwight Howard would further hinder their way as they would be beating the Magic in the regular season.
Boston Celtics
Last season saw the NBA Finals’ Runner-ups finish the regular season with 50-32 record. This year they would increase by a win and end the regular season with 51-31. They will be finishing 3rd in the Eastern Conference
and 1st in the Atlantic Division.
The Boston Celtics added players like Shaquille O’Neal, Jermaine O’Neal, Delonte West and Avery Bradley to their roster. This gives them experience and the fire power they might have lacked last season and lost the NBA Final.
Tony Allen is the player who left the Boston Celtics through and ended up with the Memphis Grizzlies.
During the course of the regular season, Kevin Garnett will be bagging good number of points for the Boston Celtics, approximated to be 20+ points per game. Added to this would be the 9 rebounds that he would come up with it.  Kevin Garnett’s
performances would earn him a spot in the All-Star team for the Eastern Conference.
The Boston Celtics have the potential to surprise many just like the last season. This season this might be hard with the Miami Heat expected to dominate the Conference. However, if the Boston Celtics manage to make their way into the
NBA Finals and are up against the Los Angeles Lakers, this time they would win the NBA title.
The reason for this being the fact that they have a lot of fire power coupled with the fact that the rivalry that exists between the two teams dating back to the time of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.
