NBA Season Preview – expectations and predictions (Part 2)
Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls ended the last year’s regular season with 41-41 record. The team has added some key players this time that include players like Carlos Boozer and Kyle Krover.
Though players like Kirk Hinrich and Hakim Warrick have left the roster, but they are expected to increase the winning games ended the season with 8 more wins. This season they will be finishing the regular season maintaining a record of 49-33. With a decent
performance during the course of the preseason, the Chicago Bulls will be finishing 4th in the Eastern Conference.
The player that would take up the challenge and be the stand out player for the Bulls will be Derrick Rose. He will be a key element in Chicago Bulls victory that would carry them into the playoffs. Though this player would not win the MVP award but he would
most definitely finish in the top four.
However, with the addition of the Carlos Boozer, much was expected from them during the preseason, but they lost. But if you compare that to the last season, then it was acceptable as they improved.
Early talks about Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh excited the fans a lot but this didn’t happen. Another one of the news was that it might be possible that Carmelo Anthony might be joining hands with the franchise. This also didn’t happen and lack of concentration
on court during these was one of the reasons for not such an impressive preseason. Now that the stage has been set, Carlos Boozer and Derrick Rose would surely take up the challenge resulting in good results for the team.
Atlanta Hawks
One of the strong finishers of last season, the Atlanta Hawks finished the last season with a 53-29 record. This team has one of the most talented rosters in the NBA and with the addition of Jordan Crawford in the squad, their roster gets more diversity.
None of the key players have left the roster which would result the team finishing in the top 5 in the Eastern Conference. Last year, the Atlanta Hawks put up a poor show in the playoffs with their star player in Joe Johnson not performing well but this
season is expected to be different. Though this time Joe is expected to perform well but the Atlanta Hawks performance is expected to drop as they would finish the season regular season maintaining 46-36 record.
New York Knicks
Last year the New York Knicks failed to show any performance during the regular season as they ended the regular season with 29-53 record. This record came as a shock for many as much was expected from this team.
This season the Knicks have added Amare Stoudemire, Raymond Felton, Anthony Randolph and Timofey Mozgov to their roster and this would result in them finishing the season maintaining a record of 44-38. Increasing by 15 games, the New York Knicks will be
ending the regular season placed in the 6th spot.
The prediction that comes from all around is that Amare Stoudemire will be the leading scoring in the NBA this season. Stoudemire has put up some impressive performances during the course of the preseason and if he continues in doing so then he can surely
reach the milestone.
Based on the performances during this preseason, the New York Knicks are placed in the 3rd slot behind the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunders.
The $100 million spent on Amare Stoudemire would seem a lot, but the runs and plays that he has come up with thus far, shows that he is worth the money paid for him. There are speculations that Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul are looking to move to the New
York Knicks. If this is the case then the New York Knicks will be one of the top teams matching the likes of Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
However, this is all future and if it happens. But if we talk about now, then the Knicks are a very talented team and would surely develop into a good team as the season progresses.
