NBA Season Preview – expectations and predictions (Part 3)
Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks finished last year’s regular season maintaining a record of 46-36. There have been a few key additions like Corey Maggette and Drew Gooden will give them strength at the winds but their performance would decrease as a whole.
The team had to face the subtraction of Luke Ridnour, who signed with the Minnesota. He was one of the players in the team that held and combined well but his departure would affect the team and they would finish the regular season maintaining a record of
42-40. They would be finishing 7th in the Eastern Conference with an outside chance of a 6th position.
One of the predictions that are related to the team is the fact that Scott Skiles Head Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks will either quit or will be fired by the All-Star break.
However, Brandon Jennings is a very good and talented player but he doesn’t have what it takes to take the team alongside yourself. Being a good point guard, he can never match the likes of Chris Paul whether it is in terms of basket IQ, on court vision
and the talent to play and make others play. Jennings is a very good shooter but the shooting that he has doesn’t show what game he has. According to some senior NBA followers, he doesn’t even make the cut of the top 10 point guards.
Coupled with this is another problem that the team has recently been facing, the problem of star players in the team not getting along the coach. To this, there is one thing to be said, if the Milwaukee Bucks want to win they have to get along. Since teams
that don’t get along with their Coach, FAIL!
Cleveland Cavaliers
The biggest losers in the NBA offseason, the Cavaliers would see drastic decrease in their performance. Last year the Cavs finished the regular season with 61-21 record.
This season they only added Ramon Sessions to their roster. Although he has a lot talent but can he replace players like Shaquille O’Neal, Zydrunas Ilgauski and most importantly LeBron James? The answer to this is obviously no!
With the departure of the backbone of the Cavs, LeBron James, the Cavs would finish the regular season with 33 less wins maintaining a record of 28-54. Though they would finish in respectable position in the Central Division in 4th position but
in the Eastern Conference, they would bd way down in the 12th position.
You might feel sorry for the Cavs like many fans around the NBA world but there is one thing for the Cavs fans to cheer for and be happy. They have a very strong chance of bring the No.1 Draft pick of the 2011 NBA Draft to Cleveland.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers had a disappointing last season where they ended the regular season with a record of 32-50.
This year the team has added some key players to its roster. These players include the like of Darren Collison and Paul George (strong contender for the Rookie of the Year award).Troy Murphy and Earl Watson have left the roster but it won’t harm them.
The Pacers are expected to finish the season with 40-42, which means 8 more wins this season. This would mean that they would be finishing in the top ten in the Eastern Conference. The bold prediction in the Indiana Pacer’s case is the fact that Darren Collison
would win the award for the Most Improved Player.
Finishing the regular season placed 3rd in the Central Division, the Indiana Pacers would make a strong impact in the next NBA season.
The reason for the Indiana Pacers slow transition is the fact that they always add players like Paul George to their squad which take time to settle. Though this player is expected to bagged 20 points per game during the course of the season, but still there
is time until he reaches the 30 point mark, which is he surely capable of doing.
