NBA Second Half Analysis: Phoenix Suns vs. Portland Trail Blazers
LaMarcus Aldridge’s 15 points in the first half gave the Portland Trail Blazers a 59-56 lead over the host team, Phoenix Suns.
Third Quarter
Grant Hill clinched the very first shot of the second half, entering 58-59 closing on the leading team. Andrew Batum secured an alley oop dunk shot that was assisted by Andre Miller, to go 61-58 over the Suns. Robin Lopez was charged a foul for being offensive,
 followed by a turnover by Miller. Marcus Camby made a jump shot that was assisted by Wesley Matthews to edge a five point lead over the Suns, 63-58.
Camby committed the first shooting foul of the second half at 10:08 on the clock that set two free throws for Suns. Lopez thrashed both free throws to cross the gap, 60-63. Channing Frye committed a shooting foul that was followed by Aldridge’s free throws.
Another foul from Frye at 8:26 and the Blazers went 69-62, edging over Phoenix Suns.
The Suns showed great offence after that and Hill’s three pointer that was followed by Steve Nash’s jump shot closed the quarter at 85-86, for the Suns.
Fourth Quarter
Rudy Fernandez missed a three pointer at the very beginning of the last stanza. Frye grabbed a rebound for the Suns, and made a tip shot to take a one point lead over the Blazers, 87-86. Soon afterwards, Goran Dragic committed a shooting foul that gave the
Blazers two free throws, going 88-87 over the Suns. Another shooting foul from Mickael Pietrus gave the Blazers two more free throws, 90-87.
9:46, Blazers leading 90-89, first Joel Przybilla and then Matthews committed a shooting foul each. Suns went 93-92 over the Blazers. Matthews warmed up to clinch a jump shot that once again gave the Blazers a one-point lead, 94-93. Frye responded with an
edgy three pointer that was assisted by Dragic; Suns once again led the Blazers, 96-94. Phoenix carried the lead till 5 minutes in the game and Lopez’ hook shot, earned the Suns their 100 points. The shot was followed by a three-pointer missed by Batum.
Four minutes in the game and Nash clinched a running jump shot, going 102-97. The Blazers took a regular team timeout after that click. With 3:48 in buzzer, Miller shot a turnaround jump shot that was assisted by Batum to take the score 99-102 for the Blazers.
Lopez soon after gave a turnover to the opposition and Miller did the same. Nash committed a technical foul that was followed by two free throws clinched by Miller, edging closer to the Suns, 101-102.
Camby committed a personal foul that earned the Suns two free throws, clinched by Nash, 104-101. Frye grabbed a rebound but Carter missed the three pointer that came his way. Miller clinched a jump shot to close 103-104 to the Suns. Lopez grabbed one of
the two free throws that came his way after Matthews committed a personal foul in the final moments of the game. Scores were tied once again at 108-all after Batum grabbed the free throws that came his way.
With just 43 seconds left in game, Nash clinched a three pointer, 111-108 over the Blazers. Phoenix still led with three points after Carter clinched a free throw that came his way. Nash secured two free throws to clinch the final two points for the Suns,
115-111.

Phoenix Suns stand victorious on home ground, 115-111 over Portland Trail Blazers.
