NBA- Some of the teams heading nowhere this season
It’s about time when all the NBA teams have already decided what plan to follow and who to pick. Every team enters a season hoping to have a better roster than the others and also to be the champion. But it’s the experts’ choice that will be discussed here about the fact as to which teams are the ones heading the wrong way this season.
In this list come the Denver Nuggets who have one best player- Carmelo Anthony- in their squad. Carmelo’s future is still in the air considering the fact that it is almost sure that he won’t stay in his present team once his contract there ends. This leaves a hard choice for the Nuggets to either let him go or trade him. The worst of this case could be that Nuggets don’t trade him and then Carmelo leaves through the free agency. If it so happens, the Nuggets would be left with no choice other than a few veterans like Billups and Nene. According to experts, the best option would be to trade Carmelo against some young talent.
The Phoenix Suns are another team considered to be heading nowhere. Unfortunately, the deserving Steve Nash would not get any assistance in his cause of winning a championship ring. It is thought that the Suns have made some of the worse decisions in not only their own but also in NBA history by letting go one of their big men- Amar’e Stoudemire. Coming up with the signing of Hakim Warrick, a skinny high flyer and then trading in Hedo Turkolgu, experts see the Suns heading nowhere. The Suns are seen to be in the middle of a mixture of young talent and veterans. With no player to match the strength and abilities of Stoudemire, the Suns are being seen as moving their way to downfall.
Experts are of the view that it would have been ok to think that a team which had 60 back to back wins during the past seasons would have no trouble if one of its players left thanks to the free agency. But the only problem was the fact that this player was no ordinary one. The two time MVP award winner, LeBron James is the man who’s leaving has left the Cleveland Cavaliers nowhere. Not only this, the hopes for their glory took further shock when the Big Shamrock, Shaquille O’Neal also left for the Celtics. Experts say that the Cavs should realize the need to rebuild their team and come up with young talent. They also need to face the fact that LeBron was their booster who helped them win 60 games for consecutive seasons.
The Detroit Pistons are another team being seen as heading not only nowhere but also going further down. Experts say that the Pistons seem to be looking to keep the veterans with them until their deaths and they also just don’t want to sign the young players. In addition to this, the Pistons are currently facing wing problems also.
