NBA Special: LeBron James vs. Kobe Bryant- Love/Hate scale (PT 2)
All this happened a long time back and ever since that time Kobe has concentrated on his performance more than ever. It’s his hard work and determination that pulled the fans back out of the 2003 shock and they started gaining their respect back for the 13-time NBA All-Star.
One after another, he took the team to five NBA championships and led the team with his emphatic demeanor. The player who was once despised even by his fans started gaining his lost reputation back.
Perhaps what LeBron is suffering from is the karma he himself often points out. Cleveland Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert reacted to James’ summer free agent decision to join Miami by saying, "The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma."
James was not happy after being regarded with this and waited for the perfect moment when he could respond to it. He did find a perfect moment to strike back when former team Cleveland Cavaliers lost an embarrassing 112-57 game against the Los Angeles Lakers on 11th January. An angry James responded to that statement with a tweet that he denied being aimed at his former team. The player in that tweet said, "Crazy. Karma is a b****. Gets you every time. It's not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!"
After being accused of why he created controversy by saying such a thing on Cleveland’s loss, the player clearly denied that it was aimed at Cleveland and responded by saying, "Everyone looks into everything that I say. Everybody looked too far into it."
Although he had completely forgotten that he was the one who had turned his back on his team and fans and that “Karma” tweet of his could make things worse. Yes they did that tweet of his hit Cleveland’s nerves and did potential harm to the player who was already treading on a thin line.
The 26-year-old player is at a sensitive position and gets criticism on every little off the hook thing that he does. Despite his aim at scoring better in games, no one seems happy with his impressive scoring either.
The player keeps pulling legs whenever given a chance, on the other hand the Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant gives positive comments about the opposition even when they lose. He is charismatic and is winning back his fans through proper leadership and giving much preference to winning for his team than his own benefits.
Winding up let me add that not only did Kobe Bryant get back the respect he once owned but he also is enjoying whopping success among international fans. He loves his fans and his fans love him back. His repute is getting intact and his fans trust him for not being the horrible player who would turn his back on home town.
LeBron James will have to bring back the person he used to be. Just scoring highest points and playing better won’t help, it’s a matter of feelings that he has hurt so he will have to make up for it with a reciprocal for that. Hurry up LeBron, before the Karma, actually gets ‘you’ back.
