NBA Special Report: Best and Worst Newcomers for the 2010-11 Season
Many teams have come up with players that according to them are best for their team. Some teams pull off the deals just to fill the roster, so that they have back up players, when some other player gets injured. During the course of this article, we will be discussing some of the new comers to a team that are best for them and some which can be categorized as worst newcomers for a team according to the expert opinions.
Out of the 86 experts who took part in voting for the best newcomer of the Year, 78 votes were secured by LeBron James, who spent his last season at the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he managed to score 29.7 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. The panel also predicted that with the addition of this extremely talented player in the Heat squad, the Miami Heat are well on course for a NBA title with 61 wins in the regular season. Though the people in Cleveland say that it is one of the worst decisions in the NBA, it can also be said that it is one the best new coming talent for the Heat.
In the line for best newcomer to a team, the second position was tied between Carlos Boozer and Amare Stoudemire. Both managed to secure 4 votes each out of the 86 man panel. Both of them are extremely talented power forwards, who are now hopeful that they would find the form and glory in the Eastern Conference, which previously they tried to achieve in the Western Conference.
Bulls will be happy with the economical deal they have managed to pull off with Carlos Boozer. Boozer with his strength, power and great scoring abilities will give the Bulls the diversity that they might lack and somewhat help them reach further heights. For the Knicks, Stoudemire is more of a magnet deal rather than anything else. Knicks bring in hope of the fact that he might attract other stars to the Knick teams, ultimately leading the Knicks to championship glory in the coming future.
Along with this, we will be discussing some of the worst newcomers to the team. Being a 'worst' newcomer according to experts means that they will have a bad experience and the team and player will suffer as a result. The results, performances and form will all fall resultantly.
Stoudemire is in the list for the worst newcomer and tops it with 10 votes. This is due to the fact that keeping in mind that he won’t be available for the Knicks regularly. This is because he has had so many knee and eye surgeries that have resulted in him being out of form for quite some time now.
Shaquille O’Neal is also in the list with his move to the Boston Celtics from Cleveland Cavaliers. According to the experts, the Big Shamrock has little to offer on court and this has been the case for the past couple of seasons. Keeping this fact in mind, the experts say that it is somewhat difficult that he would change on his form and is likely that it would fall. Therefore, they have put him in the list not doubting that he is one the best the business has seen to date.
The experts also predict that one of the elements of the Super-trio in the Miami Heat, Chris Bosh would not put up the show that he is expected to. The experts think that it is going to be difficult for Bosh to adjust from a Raptors team, where he was a focal point for the past seven seasons. In the Miami Heat, he will only be a part of the Miami attention. Coupled with the fact that Bosh has no playoff win record, it’s going to be even difficult for him to coupe up with the pressure being put on him.
