NBA Special Report: Best players under 25
Majority of the best National Basketball Association franchises key players are above 25, however there are players in the league which are younger than 25 and are the face of their teams. Here is a list of the top 5 players, without whom their respective teams would be insignificant.
Derrick Rose started his career with the NBA not long ago with the Chicago Bulls and since then has been the starter for the team. Rose has been maintaining the average of 20 points with six assists per game. He is not only one of the most athletic players in the league but the strongest, at just the age of 21. Experts say that Rose only needed a veteran player as a mentor to guide him and this year Chicago bulls provided him Carlos Boozer, who is known to be one of the best power forwards of the millennium. Chicago Bulls is a team who had no identity after Michael Jordon left it, but experts say this year Carlos and Derrick have formed one of the most dynamic duos, giving Chicago Bulls a new face after more than a decade.
Rajon Rondo, at only age 24, has won his first championship with the Boston Celtics. He is arguably the best point guard the NBA has to offer under the age of 25. Rondo is a leader in all field-goal percentage at 51.7. Experts insist Rondo’s statistics do not tell the whole story, he is a young player who creates havoc on the court, there is always one point in the game, where he busts a move that one would rewind constantly and watch. The 6foot 1inch player is one of the most thriving and exciting players from the age old roster of the Boston Celtics, Rondo has also nearly improved in almost all statistical categories since he was drafted in 2006.
Kevin Durant, at only 21, is considered a nightmare on the court for his opponents; he is young player who was born as scoring machine. Kevin is a player who wasn’t even allowed to drink legally until recently, is the pride of the Seattle SuperSonics. Due to his amazing leadership qualities he was named as the leader of the SuperSonics, he also led Seattle to the playoffs this year. Critics say who would have thought, one would live to see them play in the NBA playoff season. Durant won four titles this year, NBA All-Star, NBA Scoring Champion, All NBA First Team and H-O-R-S-E Competition. Kevin recently announced he will be playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder by next season.
Josh Smith, at only 24, has been a fortunate player to play right besides Joe Johnson, who is 4 time NBA All Star. Basketball purists consider Josh Smith a freak of nature, his game at offense was cheered by the league this year, making him part of the All-Defensive Second team. Josh also was one of the youngest players to win the Slam Dunk Championship in 2005. He is recognized as the defensive catalyst for the Atlanta Hawks. Experts say that the 6foot 9inch player is considered to be player who gives a feeling as if he has been in the league forever because of his great persona. Josh has a very decent career scoring average at 15.6 points with 7.8 rebounds per game.
The only thing that is missing on Dwight Howards resume is a championship; the 24 year old has obtained almost every major award and title in the NBA. He was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award two times consecutively in the last two year, making NBA All-Star appearance four times and three time in the All NBA First team. Dwight is famously known as the superman due to his defensive abilities and sheer size, standing at 6feet 11inches, he has dominated throughout the last six years. Despite his size, his agility is astonishing, he mostly score points on the offense side by alley-oops and put-backs. Dwight’s career average in scoring is 19.0 with 14.2 rebounds. Dwight is unquestionably the face of Orlando Magic.
