Over the course of the past month, Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan has credited Deron Williams for playing some of the best basketball of his career.

The NBA revealed today that Utah Jazz guard Deron Williams has been named the leagues ‘Western Conference Player of the Month’ for games played in October and November.
With players like Dirk Nowitzki of Dallas, New Orleans' Chris Paul, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook, San Antonio's Manu Ginobili and Los Angeles Clippers' rookie Blake Griffin among the nominees the superstar from Illinois, in his sixth NBA year, won the
award for the first time in his career.
Williams has led the Jazz to its second-best November winning percentage (.813) in franchise history and his endeavours have helped Utah to climb to first place in the Northwest Division.
The phenomenal guard has notched up an average of 21.9 points to go with 9.9 assists per game, sparking the Jazz to a 13-3 November stint and has been instrumental in a string of crazy comeback victories by the Jazz.
He has helped Jazz overcome double-digit deficits to win eight of its 14 games, including a four-game clean sweep against the giants of the Eastern Conference - Miami, Orlando, Atlanta and Charlotte.
"He's played terrific. He's done a little bit of everything,"
Jerry Sloan, the Utah coach said after Williams became only the forth Jazz player ever to win the coveted award.
"I think he's been very good defensively, which a lot of people don't talk too much about. But he's a very good defender, and he does a lot of things in that area as well as (being) able to score and pass the ball."
The title culminates a memorable month for the superstar in which he also won the ‘player of the week’ award from 8-14 November.
