Dwight Howard is the face of the Orlando Magics

The phenomenal center who leads the Magics in points scored, rebounds, steals and blocks this season  won two ‘Player of the week’ awards in November and has rounded off
an excellent month in style as NBA bestowed upon him the honor of being east’s best on Friday night.
Howard, who missed Friday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to the stomach bug, has been pivotal to Orlando’s success this season. The 6 ft 11” dominating center,
who has consistently featured in the NBA All Star team for the last four years is fifth on the list of League’s top scorers, letting it rip with a shooting rate of 59.4 which is third in the league.
Spearheading the Orlando offense is one thing, Howard has also been the back bone of the Magics defense as well. He currently ranks fourth in the league in rebounds; averaging
12.1 and has been the key cog in the Magics awesome 13-4 start, a stint that has put them at the top of the Southeast division. Orlando at present is the number one team in the league in terms of point allowed with 91.1 points.
Howard’s month was highlighted by his defensive performance on November 3rd versus Minnesota, recording a season-high eight blocked shots that included six in
the third quarter, setting a new franchise record for blocks in a quarter. That performance marked the fourth time since the start of the 2008-09 seasons that Howard has recorded eight-or-more blocked shots in a game.
Howard hit the game-winning shot on November 27 at Washington in a nerve jangling contest and is the main reason Orlando is riding high on a six match winning streak.
Dwight Howard nicknamed the ‘The Daily Double’, racking up a double-double nearly every time he hits the floor has continued his consistent stellar performance this season
and has notched up 13 double-doubles so far.
With a list of high profile players like Chicago’s Derrick Rose, New York’s Amar’e Stoudemire in contention for the coveted title, Howard emerged out as a clear favorite
as he earned the league's top monthly honor for the fifth time in his career.
