NBA Special Report: Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki crowned NBA Players of the week

Miami Heat’s influential guard Dwyane Wade and Dallas Maverick’s star forward Dirk Nowitzki have been awarded the honor of NBA players of the week for the Eastern and the Western Conference respectively,
a reward testament to their outstanding exploits during the period spanning from Monday, December 6th, through Sunday, December 12th.
Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade lunged in the history books of Miami Heat as he became the first player ever from the South Beach franchise to have earned the prestigious honor for the 13th
time. The award also marked the 26th time any Heat player has won the accolade.
The maverick guard has been instrumental in guiding the Miami to a perfect 4-0 run this week and is one of the main reason that the Heat are currently riding high on an
red hot 8 match winning streak, rounding off all the games by double-digits.
In the week under the spotlight Wade has been phenomenal, ripping through the oppositions at  an  average of 30.8 points, shooting 58.4 percent (45-of-77) from the field
and 50.0 percent (3-of-6) from three-point range. His talents have not been limited to scoring only as he also notched an average 8.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.00 steals while posting one double-double and recording at least 25 points in all four games.
In an all-round week, Wade spearheaded his team in scoring three times and led them twice in rebounds.
Wade posted a career high 14 points in the first game against the Milwaukee Bucks but his week’s best performance came against the Sacramento Kings where he recorded 36
points, six assists and six rebounds to lead his team to 104-83 win.
Dirk Nowitzki
Nowitzki won the first player of the week award for the Dallas Mavericks in late November. The seven feet tall, German superstar has done it again as he was named west’s
best for the week. This is the 13th time the high profile honor has been bestowed upon the talented forward. Nowitzki has been the key cog behind the 12 match winning spree of the Mavericks and has been in full flow this week leading the Mavericks
to a perfect 3-0 stint.
Nowitzki averaged 25.7 points in three matches with an awesome conversion rate of 70 percent from the field and has complemented it with 9.0 rebounds per game.
Nowitzki made crucial contributions in the two tight encounters against the Golden State Warriors and the Utah Jazz this week, as he made crucial plays down the stretch
in these games to maintain Dallas’s winning run.
His best performance though came against the high flying Utah Jazz as he fetched game-high 31 points on 10-12 shooting to go along with 15 rebounds and four assists including
an important 3-point play against the Jazz in a 103-97 win.
