NBA Special Report: “I feel wanted in Memphis,” an emotional Zack Randolph confessed
I feel like I belong here, replied Randolph when asked about how he feels about his adopted hometown.
One of the most productive power forwards of NBA and a hard working player of the Memphis Grizzlies is planning to spend Christmas week with a bunch of kids suffering from brain cancer. He spent some time at le Bonheur Children’s Medical Centre in Memphis
during the previous week and is planning to spread smiles on their faces on Wednesday too. Brightening up the day for those kids is an aim that is on the mind of this once immature and party loving Z. Bo.
“God has blessed me to be in this position,” He said, “so this is my way of doing things for people who otherwise can’t do for themselves.” What a beautiful way of putting it.
29-year-old Z. Bo was a struggling player in the very start. He kept trailing his way through Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and then finally landed at the Memphis to join Memphis Grizzlies in 2009 where his future career and
hometown awaited him. He is averaging 20 points and more than 10 rebounds in his games and this only keeps on getting better.
He says that he can easily relate to poor kids and their families living in Memphis as he comes from the same background. He said that his mother could not even get toys for him and his three other siblings.
Its Randolph’s dream to help his adopted hometown. He confessed that it’s the place where he has found personal peace and this town gave his career a boost. When he joined the Grizzlies back in 2009, he became a lucky charm for the franchise as he put a
positive impact on the team. The city magnetized him towards it and ever since that time he has decided to do whatever he can for the betterment of the city. He is going to arrange discounted shopping for the most deserving families living in Memphis and
that too through Wal Mart. One hundred poorest families of Memphis will have an ever better Christmas than before and the cycle would go on with more and more people benefitting from this player’s enigmatic heart.
Zach has changed; he is compassionate and his strength has personified. He was misunderstood before this and even his coaches and teammates agree with the fact. With age comes wisdom and he is a player who not only believes in playing well but going out
and sharing his joy with people who don’t have any of their own.
Randolph used to be under bad influence and a lifestyle that was a little hard to escape from, but not anymore. He has sobered and time has nurtured in him something much stronger than worldly concerns.
The NBA All Star team player has goals that are much different than others. Community work gives him more satisfaction than any other activity. He finds pleasure in helping needy and he finds eternal joy in being a role model. He is perhaps someone whose
footsteps can be easily followed by anyone.
He gave an account of his life as said that his own mother raised him and his brothers and sisters on welfare without any help from any outsider. He said that she is his role model. Z. Bo recalls that it was it was really hard and sometimes they had to totally
depend on charity during Christmas. They seldom had gifts on Christmas but he says that he looks up at her with praise as she did a very tough job. He appreciates her efforts and all she did while being a single parent. He confessed that this is the reason
he can easily relate to the welfare communities not only in his real hometown but his adopted hometown Memphis too.
Randolph is a great guy, he is a person who has changed and never disappoints anyone who looks up at him. "I'm mature. I look at things differently and more professionally than before."
