NBA Special Report: Kobe Bryant seals ninth place in NBA’s top scoring leaders list
The 32 year old shooting guard now has his name placed on the ninth number among the top scoring leaders of National Basketball Association. The player has now totalled 26,720 points, 9,297 field goals, 1,353 three pointer attempts and 6,773 free throws.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the top contender of the same list with an average of 24.6 points per game and total 38,387 points. Bryant’s average is 25.3 points per game and is just 12,000 points shy of him. With this demeanour, Bryant shows that he may pounce
to the top one day. Till that day arrives, let’s keep our fingers crossed. Next to Bryant is Hakeem Olajuwon, who has scored 26946 points and stands at eighth position in the same list.
The Los Angeles Lakers pounced their third straight victory at home ground, Friday night at the Staples Centre, LA.
Lakers backup forward Matt Barnes was injured in the first half and was replaced by backup point Andrew Bynum. Barnes will be undergoing an MRI on Saturday to check on how bad the injury is. We wish Barnes good health. Backup point guard Steve Blake also
injured his ankle in the fourth quarter. The player was replaced by Bryant after he committed a shooting foul at 9 minutes left in game.
The team has been experiencing a lot of injuries lately. Lamar Odom is already playing with a sprained left shoulder, despite the fact that he was injured the player played very well and scored 17 from off the bench.
Game stats
The Lakers topped the Hornets in field goals. The Lakers went 51 percent in field goals, levelled the Hornets 42-all in three pointer attempts. The Hornets crushed the Lakers by going 88.5 percent in free throw attempts. The Lakers were limited to just 69.2.
The lead changed eight times whereas the game was tied seven times as nearly an audience of 19,000 people buzzed the arena.

Trevor Ariza scored 17, Emeka Okafor grabbed 13 points and 13 rebounds, whereas Chris Paul struggled to score 12 points and 10 assists for the Hornets.
Bryant led the box score with 25, Pau Gasol contended with 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers. Andrew Bynum locked 17 for the team.
Coming back to “Bryant”, the player was on the box for 39 minutes. He shot 10-19 from the field and was 4-5 in free throw attempts.
