NBA Special Report: Possible destinations of LeBron if he had not gone to the
Miami Heat (Part 2)
Continuing with the possible destinations of LeBron James if he hadn’t gone to the Miami Heat, we have the New Jersey Nets next up.
LeBron would’ve likely enjoyed a lot of success with the Nets. The regular season would have witnessed the player ending the season with a record of 66-16. And the Nets would have managed to crawl their way into the NBA Finals
where they would have been defeated by the Los Angeles Lakers. The team would have enjoyed a lot of success in the upcoming few seasons which would have seen them grabbing three titles in the next four seasons.
Without a doubt this team would have been one of the more dominant teams in the NBA during the course of the regular season. Carrying this into the playoffs they would have swept past teams easily. The Nets would have a perfect
combination of size, shooting and power. Coupled with this would have been the extravagant playmaking that the team would have managed. This effectively would have meant that the team would have easily dominated some of the big teams like Miami Heat or the
LA Lakers.
The Nets would have written their names in history after being able to win 66 times; leaving behind the poor performances of last season that saw them win only 12 games. Both the big name players and youngsters would be performing
well. This would due to the fact that LeBron’s inclusion in the squad would’ve made youngsters and benchers want to play with him, thus working hard and proving themselves worthy of a spot in the starting line-up.
Now we go to another destination; Los Angeles. No, not the Lakers, but the Clippers! Playing alongside one of the rookies, Blake Griffin, who is expected to excel a lot during the course of the upcoming season, not a lot of success
would be expected. The regular season would have witnessed them finish with a record of 63-19 and making their way into the playoffs. The playoffs would have seen them lose to the Los Angeles Lakers due to the teams’ relative inexperience in the Conference
Finals.
This team would still have managed to come up with at least two titles during the course of the next five seasons if not more. Experts say this would have resulted in a big rivalry that Los Angeles would have witnessed.
The squad that the Clippers would have brought on court would have been a mixture of talent and experience. And the youth that is in the squad would have learned from a player of LeBron’s calibre. Though not such a good team-mate,
LeBron would have taken steps to improve his abilities as a team-mate to impress his critics and to help the Clippers achieve some success. Though this team would have had an early exit this season, they still would have been among some of the toughest teams
in the NBA. If not this season, then surely in the next season they would have managed to overpower the Lakers resulting in a title for them, primarily due to LeBron and trickle down effects related to him, as well as the determination of the team.
