NBA Special Report: Preview of the teams and some unanswered questions in the 2010-11 seasons (Part 1)
The free agency that had all of us on the edge of our seats and with the surprising moves that took place this NBA season, it has led to some questions that need to be answered by the NBA teams. League altering trades have taken place this summer and according to many, changed the face of the Eastern Conference. With the Miami Heat winning it all according to many when it comes to the trade deals and establishing one of the stable and potential champion team.
Firstly and maybe, the most important question for the Houston Rockets is that can Yao Ming stay healthy and help the Rockets contend in the Western Conference? Experts say that with the arrival of Kevin Martin the offensive burden would be less on Yao. The only thing that could hinder his way and place an obstacle in the way of Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets are the leg injuries that he was suffering and now after surgery look good. Experts say that the Houston Rockets are without a doubt the powerhouses of the Western Conference given the fact that Yao is in the centre of play. However, there are some impressive guards in the league that can stop him but if the 300 pounder is in the best of health then he would without a doubt demolish the defence.
Reports have told that this is Yao Ming’s last season at the Houston Rockets, as his contract expires at the end of the 2010-11 season. Yao’s statement that if he suffers from any injury in his foot, he would retire further leaves Rick Adelman with a final chance to win the title and that too, a slim one considering the fact that the Lakers are looking in a formidable form. However, experts say that what everybody would be praying is that if Yao is able to take the Houston into the playoffs, then he shouldn’t leave them like the way he did due to the career threatening injury that he faced.
The question that the New York Knicks face is that whether they have a bright future. With this comes the news of the fact that one of the successful players in the NBA Amar’e Stoudamire moved to the Knicks and there are rumours that next season there might another big face of the NBA that could land here or even both Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony both can come here too. With all this in place, the question that rises is that do the Knicks have a bright future or not? With Stoudamire urging Carmelo to come and with Tracy MaGardy deal, the Knicks according to experts have enough resources to bring other players to join the Knicks. On the other hand, Carmelo has also issued the statement that if he were to leave the Nuggets, then the Knicks were the first choice team where he wants to go. Experts say that with the current roster that the Knicks have, they can win nothing even though they have bought Stoudamire. This due to the fact that he is not playing alongside one of the league’s best point guard anymore, Steve Nash.
The most important question that everyone wants an answer to is that whether or not the Los Angeles Lakers have got what it takes to do it all over again. The experts say that the Lakers on the road to their third straight title with the perfect team chemistry. The experts are surprised by how Kobe and Artest have gelled together and with the undemanding Gasol, the Lakers bench becomes one of the best with Kobe leading and holding them together. The thing that experts fear is that players like Bosh, Wade and LeBron playing in the same team doesn’t look good, as there will be only one basketball that would need to fulfil the demands of three players who are used  to shooting. However, they have played together in the USA team but experts say that playing 82 games of the season would be totally different.
