NBA Special Report: Some of the best shooting guards in NBA (Part 2)
Joe Johnson
The face of the Atlanta Hawks and a nine year NBA veteran, Joe Johnson comes in next. Johnson has helped the Atlanta Hawks a great deal and it was mainly due to his efforts that they have made their way into the NBA playoffs 3 times.
They were able to make their way twice into the 2nd round of the playoffs but Joe Johnson wasn’t able to perform to the best of his abilities at the big stage. Joe Johnson is one of the best options that would fit into the list of best shooting
guards in the NBA.
The size that this player has, the abilities, athleticism and the skill in his game support the above statement. Coupled with these, Joe Johnson can pass the ball, dribble and shoot from long range. Joe Johnson is a very strong player when it comes to team
and individual defensive abilities. The plus point of having him in a team is that while on the defence, this player can play from positions one to five anywhere on court.
Despite the abilities that this player has, he is regarded as one of the good players. There seems to be something that hinders him from becoming the best. However, the upcoming season may just be the turning point in his career where he becomes the best
in the business. With the contract extension at the Hawks, this player is expected to play like one of the superstars of the NBA being the face of their respective franchise.
Manu Ginobili
Manu Ginobili is one of the best that the NBA has to offer with his eight year old experience. This 32 year old San Antonio Spurs player has loads of talent and has been able to achieve 3 NBA crowns.
With the basketball skills and IQ of basketball, this player is one of the beasts in the business. Some relate him with the like of Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade who have excellent abilities on both sides of court. The athleticism and dominating performances
that this player offers surely make him one of the unique and effective players in the league.
This player plays with a lot determination which has enabled him to come up with memorable performances during the recent times. The question as to how long he can maintain the performances that he is currently bagging remains to seen but one thing is for
sure that no players would be happy on being the opposing team when he has the ball.
Vince Carter
Vince Carter is one of the most experienced players in NBA and with 12 NBA seasons backing him, he understands the NBA quite well.
At the age of 33, Vince Carter has past the prime of his career and isn’t the player he once was but he is still better than most current shooting guards. This player has the brilliant ability to put the ball on the floor and create scoring opportunities
for not only himself but his teammates too.
With the excellent shooting abilities that he has, Vince Carter extends his shooting abilities well behind the 23 feet shooting line. Coupled with this is the passing ability that makes him one of the diverse players in the NBA.
Possessing the right knowledge and basketball IQ, Vince Carter is one of the most effective defence players in the NBA. Though he is not as quick as he used to be in the prime of his career, Carter is still able to come up with turn overs and steals that
play and important part in the team’s success rate. With the size and long arms, Vince Carter is able to get a hand on the ball most of the times.
Some would say that his career has ended, but with the last year’s performance with the team that managed to become the most point scoring team (Orlando Magic), Vince Carter still has 2 or 3 quality seasons to offer to the franchise.
