NBA Special Report: Two threats for Los Angeles Lakers- Boston Celtics and Miami Heat
On 17th June 2010, Los Angeles Lakers, while battling out a defensive game, won the 2010 NBA Finals after an intense play against the Boston Celtics. Lakers became the NBA Champions for the second consecutive time.
Experts believe that the face of Western Conference has now changed with the power horses shifting into the Eastern Conference but reports still suggest that no matter what big names move into the East, Los Angeles Lakers would no doubt remain the champions and best team.
Although, the Lakers haven’t come up with big trade deals like those of Miami Heat but they still have managed to bring in some important players such as Matt Barnes. It is thought that the team at present has a better understanding and experience of the sport which other teams like Miami Heat seem to lack a bit.
Looking at teams who can pose a threat to the Lakers, we have Miami Heat next in line. Miami Heat had the best offseason compared to any other NBA team as they came up with the re-signing of Dwayne Wade and two other mega signings- LeBron James and Chris Bosh. But despite all this, Heat still doesn’t seem to have what it takes to win and throw the Lakers from their throne.
The newly formed combination at Heat will certainly take time to gel and a little more time before they start playing as one. The Lakers, apparently, have also got more power than the Heat when it comes to the physical play. Experts say that if both teams come across each other then the Lakers would most probably come out on top with a score of 4-2.
Boston Celtics are yet another team that have been bringing in experience rather than young players and this time they have added the big machine, Shaquille O’Neal also into their roster. With another big man, Perkins still recovering from his injury, the team would be depending on Shaq to fill up the gap and use the immense talent and power he has to absolutely demolish the opposition.
Players such as Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Russell Westbrook further strengthen the Celtics’ team. They just need to wait now and hope that all their players perform and not get injured at the critical moments.
Despite their loss of Tony Allen, the Celtics are undoubtedly one of the best teams of the league. Experts predict that provided that everybody in the Celtics’ roster remains healthy, the team would win the series with a score of 4-3.
