NBA- Teams with Last Chance to win a Championship Title (Part 2)
The list of those NBA teams who most probably won’t be able to win a championship after this season and have a last shot at the title continues. Previously, we had mentioned teams like the Spurs, who had won titles before but with the ever aging players, it looks more and more difficult for them to match the speed of some of the young players in business.
It is being thought that even if the Phoenix Suns had one of their best players from last year, they might still have been on the list. But off season saw Stoudemaire leave and as a result left the skillful Steve Nash alone with loads of questions that would need answers. Not only will Steve have to devise a plan without one of the roster’s most successful players, who has left, but also to manage the team with eleven players who according to experts need a lot of improvement.
These players seem to have talents but at the moment aren’t among the special players of the league with the likes of J-Rich and Grant Hill. On the other hand, some experts are even of the view that Suns shouldn’t be in the list due to the fact that they don’t stand any chance of winning a title this year. However, some come up with the argument that with one of the best point guards and head coaches of the game, Gentry they still have a chance and this is what the list is all about.
Reports suggest that this year, the Suns have the least chances of winning the titles if we compare them with other teams on the list. What makes the Suns out of the running for the title is that Nash might retire next season and the Suns might practically be left with nothing.
The New Orleans Hornets is the next team on the list with arguably the best NBA point guard in their squad and a few other good players to accompany him. Chris Paul, with his talent has not only been able to become one of the best in the point guard position but the extravagant player also seems to excel in every other department of his game.
Looking at his performances in the past few seasons, experts think that Paul has somewhat realized the fact that a championship ring is not possible for him in the Hornets. The only thing that could keep him in the Hornets is if they manage to win a championship ring but according to experts this has a very less chance of happening.
Last but not the least; Denver Nuggets are another team in the same situation as the Hornets. The Nuggets have one of the top five players of the NBA in the form of Carmelo Anthony but Experts say that Carmelo like Chris Paul has only one or two good players around him. He wanted to leave the Nuggets but the mouth watering deal offered to him by them made him stay at Denver.
Nevertheless, it is same in Carmelo’s case also; if the Nuggets aren’t able to win a championship this season then this players might well be heading out in search of a championship contending team.
