NBA: The Holy Trio - Chris Bosh the odd one out?

While the ‘Big Three’ of Miami Heat have made it big on the news since last week after signing onto Miami Heat, the three critics have been calling Chris Bosh “the odd one out”.
Bosh is an amazing player with great talent as he has proved with his previous team Toronto Raptors. However, there are many arguments as to if Chris would be able to play or will be given as many minutes on the court, because all the lime-light will be on LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. So the big question arises, what will Bosh’s role be on the team?
It seems quite natural for James and Wade to be dominating on court, the two will seem quite rhythmic, so they are likely to play on the offense and defence leaving Bosh out. It will be foolish to say that one will see the two playing on the court for countless minutes but James and Dwyane playing alongside for at least 40 shots will not only be great to watch but be quite celebrated by the fans.
Bosh was given at least 17 shots in the previous playoffs; will he be given enough next year? Besides Dwyane and James the Miami Heat has also called on board a renowned sharpshooter Mike Miller, who the team is likely to send out when either of the two are on bench.
What is worrying Bosh’s fans is that the “Big-three” might just cut him out of the trio after a small period of time giving him limited touches to the ball hence lowering his Points Per Game (PPG). This is as likely to happen because it is like putting two Jordan’s on the team, how many times do you think Dennis Rodman would get the ball?
Let us determine as to why James and Dwyane will work better together.
Although Bosh has had a good 7 year career he has still to prove he is a show-stopper like Dwyane and James. However, Bosh does have the ability to score over 25 PPG if he wants. Nevertheless the fact that James and Dwyane’s duo sounds natural, Bosh will just be like an ad-don.
Bosh is a great athlete no doubt but he has yet to handle a NBA veteran well; Shaquille O’Neal dropped a 25 on him last year, leaving him under confident. While LeBron has competed against stars like Kobe Bryant and Dwyane has followed through as well showing the NBA nation that they have got what most players as young as them do not.
Bosh is well known for his offense but on the defence side he is still quite poor, despite being the tallest out of the three. He is in dire need of some defence training so the 6foot 10 inch player could put his height to good use.
So is it worth spending $14.5M a year on a player with such a poor defensive side?
The Heat could have certainly picked someone who knows how to block, show dominance on court to the opponents. They could have welcomed aboard players like Emeka Okafor who has great weight and height and certainly knows how to use it. Bosh is not a player who is capable of cleaning up the glass.
So will Miami Heat be able to match up with the defence duo of the likes of Andrew Lee Bynum and Pau Gasol with Bosh being on the defence?
Well there is no doubt that Dwyane and LeBron know how to deal with the NBA veterans and will probably make their way around them but Bosh has yet to do so and could cause many problems for Miami in future. However, one thing that could really favour him and could possibly mould him into an amazing defence player is Pat Riley, who is the Miami Heat’s Head coach. Pat on many occasions has mentioned Bosh to be his long time favourite ever since 2003 draft season and has waited a long time to sign on to his favourite player.
For now only future will tell how Bosh’s performance would be and determine if he does belong to the trio or is he just another third wheel.
