NBA Trade Speculations: Veterans available on the trade circuit (Part 3)
Steve Nash
Many teams will be looking for a solid point guard that’ll take the burden off their key players when the next shopping spree will begin. In this list of point guards, Steve Nash is at the top if his team Phoenix Suns put him up
for trade.
Though the 37 year old seems close to his retirement, but the way Nash is playing it looks that age had no effect on him. The qualities that makes him the best choice for NBA teams in quest of point guard, is his tremendous control
over the ball and his faultless vision on the court.
He is one of the very few high-quality point guards in the league today, who are hard to pin down. Moreover, he possesses years of experience under his belt that makes him as good on the inside as he is from the outside. Nash would
be a great help for the teams that would be looking to contend for the championship.
Nash’s $11.7 million contract seems too expensive for the suitors, but it is coming off the books in next summer. So it would be beneficial for the team that acquires him both in long and short-term. Last but not least nothing
will get better than acquiring a veteran like Nash.
Andre Miller
At the age of 35, Andre Miller, who last played as a guard for the Denver Nuggets, can still start a game on everyday basis for any NBA team. This is a very rare quality to find among a player of this age as not many in the league
are capable of doing it.
Miller, who was picked up as 8th overall from the 1999 National Basketball Association Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers holds a healthy career scoring average of 14.4 points to go along with 4.1 boards and 7.2 assists
per game.
These stats depict that even at this stage of his career Miller is still a strong offensive launch pad. His astounding court vision makes him not only an indefinable player, but also makes him a tough defy for his opponents. In
addition to that Miller also plays a very good defence, especially when it comes to pickpockets.
Miller, who is the backup for their starting point guard Ty Lawson, would definitely get loads of suitors if the Nuggets put him up for the trade, as he possesses a wide of set of skills.
Richard Hamilton
33 years old Richard Hamilton has been a part of the Detroit Pistons since 2002, who can play at both shooting guard and small forward position. Though, the captain of the Pistons didn’t deliver good numbers in the previous season
(14.1 points per game). However, Hamilton still has a lot of spark in his belly and can prove a worthy offensive player for the team which is looking to add a thrust to their offense.
Hamilton’s career average of 17.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game and his terrific shooting makes him a constant peril for his opponents, as he has the capability to push a team to the next playoffs. Even though his
defence is weak, but he covers that from other end of the floor.
Hamilton’s inclusion in any top eight teams of a conference at the end of the regular-season, can make a team look very dangerous in the postseason.
