NBA Update: 2nd Half Analysis: Houston Rockets vs. Denver Nuggets
The scores were tied at the end of 1st half: 52-all
3rd Quarter
Shane Battier clinched a three pointer to refresh the scores for the Rockets, 55-52. Nene Hilario missed a layup shot and Battier rebounded the ball for the Rockets. Kevin Martin missed the resulting jump shot and Nene pulled the ball back in possession
of the Nuggets. Carmelo Anthony dunked in to pull out a jump shot for the Nuggets (19 points). Aaron Afflalo committed a technical foul and (Rockets) Martin grabbed the technical free throw provided to the team.
Chauncey Billups committed a shooting foul with 10 minutes on the clock and result were two more free throws from Kyle Lowry.
Afflalo dunked in to pull out a three pointer assisted by Anthony to make it 59-60. Billups committed a shooting foul that pulled out two more free throws for the Rockets, 62-59.
After a series of fouls and some good shots, the scores were tied once again on 81-all.
4th Quarter
Ty Lawson’s driving layup shot broke the tie to give the Nuggets a two point lead over the Rockets 83-81. Chase Budinger dunked in with Brad Miller’s assist to tie the scores once more at 83. Chris Andersen’s put back layup shot triggered a two point lead
for the Nuggets.
Andre Miller committed a shooting foul with 10 minutes on the clock. Gary Forbes grabbed one of the two free throws given. Miller grabbed a driving finger roll layup shot to add two more to the Rockets box score, 85-86.
Forbes made a tip shot to pull out a five point lead over the Rockets, going 90-85. Ruben Patterson made a jump shot as Courtney Lee gave him an assist with eight minutes in buzzer. The Rockets struggled to get the ball but the Nuggets would not let go of
it. The lead never changed after 83-all at 10:59 in game. Battier’s personal foul was the final shot of the game as the Nuggets clinched a seven point lead over the Rockets, 113-106.
