3rd Quarter
Kobe Bryant initiated the game by missing a jump shot for the Lakers. Richard Jefferson rebounded the ball immediately for the Spurs and Tim Duncan gave a turnover that was stolen by Ron Artest on the spot.
Artest made a layup shot taking the scores further for the Lakers 46-42 and DeJuan Blair made a jump shot assisted by Manu Ginobili for the Spurs.
Jefferson committed a shooting foul for the Spurs and Lamar Odom dunked in to pull out the free throws allotted for the Lakers taking them from 46 to 48, while Spurs were 49.
Marr Barnes made a personal foul and Gary Hill grabbed both the free throws for the Spurs holding on to the lead as the Spurs went 66-57.
Ginobili clinched a marvellous three pointer shot to end the 3rd quarter and the Spurs went 71-62.
4th Quarter
The start of fourth quarter was not very good for either of the teams. Both of them faced a series of missed jump shots and missed three pointers that were followed by Shannon Brown’s shooting foul that earned the Spurs two free throws. Hill dunked out both
the free throws taking the lead further 73-62.
Odom missed a running bank shot and the ball was immediately rebounded by Matt Bonner for the Spurs. Gary Neal made a three pointer shot and Ginobili gave him an assist to take the lead 14 points higher.
Bryant made two three pointers in a row that took the score 70-79 for the Lakers.
Blair hooked a bank shot as Tony Parker gave him an assist to take a 13 point advantage over the now miserable Lakers.
Brown was replaced by Artest at 4 minutes in the game. Blair made a reverse layup shot and Duncan gave him an assist. Blair committed a shooting foul right after that pulling out two free throws for the Lakers, taking them 72-87; a long way to catch up with.
The Spurs were intent in every shot and never missed an opportunity to steal the ball; they rebounded, made reverse layup shots and three pointers and took a 15 point lead over the Lakers 97-82.
