NBA Update: 2nd Half analysis: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics
3rd Quarter
Elton Brand (Sixers) made a jump shot at the very beginning of the 3rd quarter as Spencer Hawes gave him an assist. Kevin Garnett missed a jump shot and Brand grabbed a rebound for the Sixers. Allen made a jump shot to clinch his 15th
point and Shaquille O’Neal gave him an assist that scored the Celtics 40 points.
Brand made a jump shot and Jrue Holiday gave him an assist to soar the scores further for the Sixers 48-40.
Garnett committed a shooting foul and Brand grabbed both the free throws in style to take the Sixers 50-47.
Hawes’ jump shot and Holiday’s assist levelled the scores between both the teams 54-54.
Ray Allen scooped a three pointer and Marquis Daniels dished out an assist for the Celtics to give his team another lead over the Sixers 61-58.
Louis Williams took a step back jump shot after Von Wafer trounced a three pointer for the Celtics assisted by Daniels 64-61.
End of 3rd Quarter: Celtics: 64, Sixers: 61
4th Quarter
Allen missed a jump shot at the very beginning of the fourth quarter and Semih Erden grabbed a rebound for the Celtics and Davis missed a jump shot that Holiday rebounded for the Sixers.
Brand grabbed a jump shot as Holiday gave him an assist. Brand was fouled afterwards and Davis trounced both the free throws for the Celtics to get a three point lead 66-63.
Tony Battie’s jump shot levelled the scores at 68. Williams grabbed a rebound that was skipped by Davis and missed a three pointer while attempting to shoot.
Williams’ jump shot that was assisted by Andre Iguodala gave the Sixers a three point edge over the Celtics 70-68. Battie breezed out a jump shot and Williams dished him an assist to take the lead further 72-68.
Battie’s thunderous running tip shot bounced the Celtics four points further 74-70. Pierce’s shooting foul right after gave Battie another chance of throwing the Sixers a free throw, he missed the second one.
Battie committed a shooting foul at 4:33 in regulation and O’Neal dished out both the free throws for Celtics 72-74.
Scores were levelled at 78 after Williams made a running jump shot that was assisted by Brand. Unfortunately Holiday committed a personal block foul for the Sixers that gave the Celtics two free throws that Allen skimmed out successfully to give the Celtics
a two point lead 80-78.
The Celtics never looked back after that and another of Battie’s fouls at 5.6 in game gave the Celtics what they wanted the most, the lead.
End of fourth quarter: Celtics win 84-80
