NBA Update: Atlanta Hawks beat the pointless Detroit Piston by 85 – 94
Hawks continued their success story by beating Pistons at Philips Arena, Atlanta. The win of Hawks against Piston is their fifth continuous victory. With unbeaten series of matches, Hawks are one among the hot favourites.
Prominent players
Michael Jeffrey Jordan "Air Jordan" and "His Airness" remained the top scorer at Piston’s end with 22 points. Tayshaun Durell Prince followed him with 17 points. Austin Daye scored 6 and Rodney Stuckey scored 5 points for Pistons.
Josh Smith "J-Smoove” played well for Hawks and added 22 points. Al Horford was the second highest scorer for Hawks with 18 points. Joe Marcus Johnson remained at number third with 14 points and Marvin Williams scored 11 points.
First Quarter
Gordon scored the first basket for Detroit and overall he scored 11 points in the first period. Tayshaun Durell Prince and Charlie Alexander Villanueva individually added 4 points. Rodney Norvell Stuckey added 3 points to the scoreboard.
Johnson and Smith played well for Hawks in the first session and added 6 points each. Jeffrey (Jeff) Demarco Teague scored 4 points. Horford, Crawford, and Powell added 2 points each for Hawks.
Pistons have dominated the first quarter dominated and as a result, they were ahead of Hawks and led them by 22 – 24 by the end of first session.
Second Quarter
Austin Darren Daye played the second half for Pistons in a perfect manner and added 6 points for the team. Tracy Lamar McGrady, "T-Mac" scored 5 points. Villanueva scored 4 points. Gordon ends up the second session with 3 points. Prince, Monero and DaJuan
Michael Summers added 2 points each.
Zaza Pachulia became the leading scorer for Hawks in the second half with 6 points. Williams and Smith added 4 points each and Mike Bibby scored his first basket of the game in the second half.
Pistons continued to be ahead of Hawks by the end of second half with 48 – 44 points.
Third Quarter
Prince took the charge of Pistons in the third session and successfully added 6 points. Gordon scored 4 points. Monero and summers added 3 points each. Stuckey and Villanueva also scored 2 points each.
Williams headed Hawks in the third quarter and added valuable 7 points. Horford added 6 points to the scoreboard. Pachulia and Bibby added 2 points each.
Hawks took the lead by the end of third quarter 66- 70.
Fourth Quarter
Prince played the fourth session well and scored 5 points for Pistons. Gordon, McGrady, and Villanueva were the quadrant for Pistons in the fourth round, as they scored 4 points each. Monera added 2 points.
Horford led Hawks with 8 precious points in the final quarter. Johnson and Smith added 6 points each and Pachulia scored 4 points.
Hawks maintained to be ahead of Pistons by the end of fourth quarter and won the match by 85 – 94.
Turning Point of the match
The turning point of the match remained very interesting in a way that the ball remained in Piston’s court in the first two quarters and taken away by Hawks in the final two quarters. Even with a lead of two quarters, Pistons end up the match in continuing
to be the pointless team of the season after five matches.

Joe Marcus Johnson of Hawks said, “We haven't yet played our best, but we're still winning.’’ The point to remember is that Joe is the only one who made only 5-of-15 shots for 14 points and had a game-high eight assists.
Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince said, “Nobody envisioned it, but obviously it's something we're going to deal with now and try to figure out (how) to go forward with this.”
