NBA Update: Bulls beat Warriors by a long chalk
Golden State has been one of the National Basketball Associations highest scoring teams over the past few seasons, but has struggled to make its shots in Chicago and finally end up the session being short of 30 points. No. 9, Luol Deng played a very vital
role in the victory of Chicago Bulls over Golden State Warriors by 120 – 90 at United Center, Chicago. He scored 26 points and six assists. The Warriors strive for a better offensive effort at the United Center while trying for a third straight victory against
the Bulls. The attendance of the game remained 21140.
The Bulls were whistled for a team-record low seven personal fouls in the game. The Warriors were 5-for-7 from the line.
Prominent players
The game is been played in an outstanding manner at Bulls end as six of the players scored points in double digits. Luol Deng scored 26 points; Derrick Rose had 22, Joakim Noah scored 17, Taj Gibson and Keith Bogans contributed 14 points each for Bulls.
Monta Ellis had 24 points and 5 assists to lead the Warriors. Stephen Curry had 17 points packed with 6 assists, and Dorell Wright added 12 points.
Stat of the night
The Bulls had a season-high 37 fast break points.
Good move
The head coach of the Chicago Bulls,Thibodeau played Deng for 23 minutes in the first half, and Rose for 20, and the Bulls increased their lead to 30 points, stomping out any thought of a Warrior comeback.
Notable
Chicago center Joakim Noah, the league leader in rebounds with 15 per game, failed to record a double double for the first time this season. He had 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in 33 minutes.
Game story
The conditions seemed to be very unfavourable for Warriors as they were the one playing a back-to-back match, and without All Star forward David Lee. The Warriors looked tired one night after their win at Madison Square Garden. Lee sustained a cut on his
left elbow when he inadvertently struck former Knicks teammate Wilson Chandler in the mouth. The Warriors looked lifeless throughout most of the game. While on the other side Bulls were fully equipped with Derrick Rose and Luol Deng, who pushed the pace from
the outset and Golden State simply could not keep up.
The Bulls could get any shot they wanted and the Warriors did not seem too concerned about playing defense on this particular game.
Bulls took initial lead of 14 points in the very first quarter and never let the Warriors back into the game. The lead of Bulls extended to 28 points by the end of second quarter.
Warriors kept on struggling but even then, the Bulls added 28 more points in the third session.
The match remained very interesting for the fans as it reminds them, last year's meltdown against the Kings last year when the Bulls blew a 35-point lead in the third quarter and his time they were able to hold onto a 35-point lead and keep it steady. The
intensity never really wavered.
Finally, bulls uprooted Warriors in the fourth and final session of the game with an outstanding lead of 30 points. The Bulls finished with 29 assists, including 13 from Rose.
Turning point of the game
Luol Deng, Derrick Rose, and Keith Bogans directed an up-tempo style through the middle of the first quarter, turning an 8-8 game into a 20-10 game and the Warriors never recovered.
Quotable
While talking about the 14 steals of Bulls in the game, the coach Tom Thibodeau said, "I don't like reckless gambling. I like getting back, getting set, and putting pressure on the ball. I like the contested '2', the rebound and the outlet."
"That happens in the NBA.'' said, the Golden State coach Keith Smart.
