NBA Update: First Half Analysis: Denver Nuggets vs. Sacramento Kings
The game was held at the Arco Arena, Sacramento where a hundred more than 13,000 basketball fans enjoyed the game between the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings.
Start of 1st Quarter
To start off the game, the ball was jumped between DeMarcus Cousins and Nene Hilario. Jason Thompson dunked forward reeling past the others to gain possession of the ball for the Sacramento Kings. (Kings) Cousins opened the game with a jump shot as Tyreke
Evans gave his fellow player an assist, 2-0. Francisco Garcia clinched a three point edging the Kings 5-0 over the Nuggets in the very start. Garcia was fouled immediately for his shooting and Carmelo Anthony pushed in two free throws to initiate a two point
run for the Nuggets. Nene arrived with a layup shot as Anthony rebound the ball next to Evans missed jump shot.
The Nuggets starters restricted the Kings with an edgy start by clinching a number of jump shots in a row. They managed to pull out a six point lead over the Kings that kept getting higher but the Kings were persistent in their moves. Landry pulled out a
jump shot and Garcia clinched a three pointer to close the gap, 14-17.
End of 1st Quarter
Game was tied at 27-all when Cousins’ layup shot with just 14 seconds on the clock gave the Kings a two point first quarter lead, 29-27.
Start of 2nd Quarter
Carl Landry posterior to ball rebound committed a shooting foul that was followed by Al Harrington’s two free throws. The second free throw tied the game once again on 29-all. Cousins shot a free throw provided by Chris Andersen’s foul that edged the Kings
once again, 30-29. Casspi had a three pointer hit after a replacement of one of the Nuggets to soar up with three more points, 33-29.
Pooh Jeter committed a shooting foul for the Kings, giving the Nuggets a point they earned from the free throw provided. Cousins had a classy dunk shot at 10:13 left in second half as Evans pulled out an assist for the 20-year-old fellow. The Kings played
with an edge, determined and focused. They savoured almost every shot that came their way. As for the Nuggets, they were being famished to take shots. Nene and Afflalo were driving ahead to get the shots but the Kings kept hovering over the opponent team.
End of 2nd Quarter
In the last moments of the second quarter, the Nuggets committed three straight fouls that increased the gap further. The Kings saw a first half lead over the Nuggets, 69-55.
