NBA Update: Indiana Pacers take down Toronto Raptors, 124-100
Seven players featured in double figures as Indiana Pacers rout Raptors at Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, 124 – 100.
High-Flying Players
Brandon Rush played a very vital role in the victory of Pacers, scored a season-high 26 point. Danny Granger (21 points), Darren Collison (17 points), Roy Hibbert (13 points), Josh McRoberts (12 points), Mike Dunleavy (11 points), and James Posey (11 points)
joined Brandon in double figures, hitting some big shots in the final minutes to ice the victory over a feisty Nets squad.
Five Raptors players scored in double figures, including a team-high 21 off the bench from Jose Calderon. Amir Johnson added 15 for the Raptors in the defeat.
First Quarter
Indianan Pacers established strong base from the start of the game by leading the first quarter by 13 points, 31-18.
Granger of the Pacers leads all scorers with 10 points.
Pacer’s biggest lead of the quarter was points.
Second Quarter
In the second quarter, Indiana got it going offensively, and used that to slowly build up a 24-point lead at the half, scoring 37 points in the second quarter, all while holding Raptors to 44 in the entire half.
The Pacers built a 42-21 lead early in the second quarter. Bargnani tried hard but remained scoreless until 52 seconds remained in the first half. By then, the Raptors trailed 64-42.
The Pacers shot 74 percent in the second quarter and led 68-44 at the intermission.
Third Quarter
In the third, Indiana continued to up their lead, eventually capping out at 21 points, before Raptors fought hard to make the score a respectable one, outscoring the Pacers 23-21 in the fourth to show up only 02 down when the buzzer sounded.
The Pacers stretched the lead to 28 early in the third and further extended their lead to 89-67, heading into fourth.
Fourth Quarter
Raptors tried their level best to get back into the game but Pacers controlled every aspect of this one, limiting turnovers and playing tenacious defence.
Calling back Tyler Hansbrough
Power forward for Indiana Pacers, Tyler Hansbrough did not play until 6:29 to go. At one point, fans vociferated, "We want Tyler." He contributed 4 points in just six minutes of the game.
