Game stats
The Timberwolves outrebounded the Celtics. Perhaps it was Love’s effort that helped them pull out as many as they did under the circumstances. They even outrebounded the Celtics in offensive rebounds as they pulled out 13-7. The Timberwolves did not watch
their bad passes and gave away 15 turnovers to the eager Celtics. In an otherwise careless game stats, the Celtics trounced farther more points in the paint then the Timberwolves, 38-26.
When it comes to team loyalty, Pierce and Rajon Rondo have no equivalent. Both the players were on the box with sprained ankles and Rondo’s presence once again energized the arena for Boston. The player had six points and dished out 16 assists, enough to
trample down the wounded wolves.
Quote it!
The team captain Pierce was all cheers having Rondo back in the team again. He expressed his feelings when he later said, "Doc wanted to me a little more aggressive at the half. I was out there trying to be a playmaker, but I forgot we had Rondo out
there doing that, so I could go back to my customary role, scoring the ball."
Hottest player
Love dominated the rim in the first quarter. He was on the glass throughout most of the first quarter. He outrebounded the Celtics in just first 12 minutes of the game on a margin of 10-3. The Wolves had a total 14 rebounds in the first quarter that helped
them in an eight point early lead.
Turning point
The Timberwolves were intent on taking the lead to the end. The game turned sides when Timberwolves were facing a one point deficit and there were just 10 seconds left in the game. It so happened that the Timberwolves inbounded the ball to Luke Ridnour who
dashed out to t he basket. Although the 29 year old point guard was whistled for travelling, with just eight seconds left in game. Boston grabbed the ball and took away with the win.
Quotable
"I was really proud of how well our guys played. We've got to pay our dues to learn how to win ball games and this young team is going to. We're going to make sure we put ourselves in position as we go forward to win those ballgames." Timberwolves
coach Kurt Rambis sounded inspirational as he said this.
