It is often thought that if a team wins in the first month of the season then they have the potential to win more games ahead. That’s what the Memphis Grizzlies are basing their hopes on as they are looking forward to a win over
the Detroit Pistons. They have already had a tough time with five consecutive losses and will try to avoid their sixth one to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies (5-9) had a very dramatic 97-95 win over the Miami Heat on Sunday, where Rudy g*y hit a fade-away jumper over LeBron James just as the buzzer rang. As Dwyane Wade was injured, he could not make it to the game.
Zack Randolph scored 21 points with 13 rebounds, Mike Conley had 16 points and Rudy g*y added 15 points and eight rebounds as they skidded past the Heats. Lionel Hollins, the coach of the Grizzlies team, had expected the same spirit
from his team this season.
"This was the most unified we've been," remarked the happy coach. "That's how you win tough, close games, everybody rooting for each other, everybody picking each other up."
Shooting guard and small forward for the Detroit Pistons, Richard Hamilton, has an average of 19.8 points and a 50.3 percent of shooting in his nine games in Memphis. Despite this, he had a 9.3 while 32.9 percent shooting on the
road in this season. He had five points on a 1-of-7 shooting at Dallas.
During the game against the Dallas Mavericks, Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey both scored 19 points each.
The Detroit Pistons shot 42.5 percent and had less than 90 points this season for the fourth time.
After three quarters, the Pistons were leading by five points despite a poor shooting effort.
The Detroit Pistons lost to the Dallas Mavericks 88-84 on Tuesday and fell to 2-6.
g*y has an average of 18.6 points and 12.6 boards after missing four games due to a back injury and scored 24 points and 13 rebounds in a 99-93 victory at Detroit in their teams’ latest encounter on January 27. Detroit was leading
by five after three quarters.
"This is a tough loss because we controlled the game pretty much throughout," Prince said later.
The Pistons have an average of 98.8 points in their five-game winning streak at Memphis.
Both the teams will look forward to a good game and to make it past the other one.
