NBA Update: Second Half Analysis: New York Knicks vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The New York Knicks shaded the Portland Trail Blazers with six points at the end of first half, 56-50.
Third Quarter
Raymond Felton missed the first shot that came his way at the start of the second half. LaMarcus Aldridge rebound the ball for the Blazers at that instance. Amar’e Stoudemire committed a shooting foul that pounced a free throw for the Blazers, 51-56. At
10:14 on the clock, Aldridge clinched an alley oop dunk shot that was assisted by Marcus Camby. Aldridge matched the scores to a certain extent as he made a jump shot, going 55-56. Finally, when the clock struck 8:44, Wesley Matthews’ layup shot assisted by
Miller gave the Portland Blazers a one point lead over the Knicks, 57-56.
Stoudemire made a jump shot that was assisted by Wilson Chandler and Andre Miller grabbed a driving layup shot, Blazers still leading, 59-58. The Knicks took that as a challenge and responded with a three pointer that was clinched by Chandler at 7 minutes
left in the fourth quarter, 61-59. Turiaf pounced another layup shot that edged the Knicks further over the Blazers, 63-59 at 6:25 on the clock.
Camby committed a shooting foul that grabbed two free throws for the Knicks, going 66-62, in a lead over the Blazers. Bill Walker dunked a putback shot to give his team a six point edge over the Blazers, 68-62. Right after that Walker clinched a three pointer
to hold the Blazers at 62, going 71-62 over them.

New York took a nine point lead over Portland, 75-66.
Fourth Quarter
Mills missed the very first shot of the last quarter and Toney Douglas rebound the ball for the Knicks. Walker missed a three pointer and Matthews rebound the ball for the Blazers, ending up missing a shot that came his way. Williams committed a shooting
foul and was replaced by Ronny Turiaf. Soon after that Rudy Fernandez pulled out two free throws provided, 68-75.
Fields made a reverse layup shot that gave the Knicks a 10 point advantage over the Blazers, 81-71. A three pointer clinched by Fernandez shortened the deficit only to seven, and a jump bank shot pulled them even closer, 76-81. Fernandez committed a shooting
foul at 6:02 on the buzzer that was followed by two free throws that came from Stoudemire.
Turiaf committed a shooting foul that wobbled two free throws out of Blazers, going 78-85. Soon after that the Knicks edged 16 points over the Blazers at 3:10 in the game when Turiaf clinched an alley oop layup shot that was assisted by Felton, leading to
a score of 96-80. The Blazers could not reassemble after that point.
End of game
The Knicks kept edging over the Blazers and the stumbling Blazers saw a 14 point deficit at the end of game, 100-86.
