Oklahoma City Thunder win 102-87 against the Sacramento Kings

Oklahoma City Thunder played host to the struggling Sacramento Kings this Friday at the Oklahoma City Arena. The match was attended by around 18,000 fans and lasted for 2 hours and 18 minutes. During the course of the match the
lead changed hands 7 times while the score was tied once.
The match began with the Sacramento Kings scoring the opening points of the match. The away team looked very stable in defence at the start but with the passage of time, the Thunders started to come up with some brilliant plays
that saw them combining together superbly.
The home team was able to come up with attacks too and managed to keep in touch with the Kings as the quarter progressed. During the course of the first quarter, the Sacramento Kings and the Oklahoma City Thunder both not only
attacked but came up with a strong defence. The emphasis was on stopping the opposition from scoring and both teams were successful in doing so.
The Kings led 22-21 at the end of the first quarter with points scored from all players on the roster for both the teams.
The 2nd quarter saw the Thunder step up their game. They came up with some absolutely spectacular pieces of play combining together and scoring regularly. The strong attacks of the home team with the backing of the fans
saw the Kings defence crumble.
During the quarter, Thunder was not only strong offensively but the defence was also up to the mark. The home team led the quarter in terms of points, scoring as they bagged 32 points compared to the Kings 24. The quarter came
to an end with Oklahoma leading 53-46.
The 3rd quarter was a very hard fought 11 minutes of play that saw both the teams restricting each other. The main focus during this quarter was on defence and it certainly showed from the fact that Oklahoma scored 19
points in the quarter while the Kings scored 21.
Both teams hard work paid off in the 3rd and the stage was set for a very tough and interesting final quarter. The 11 minutes of play ended with Oklahoma City still leading 72-67.
The final was again dominated by the home side as they came up with a very good performance. The home team’s defence and offence were again up to the mark. The quarter saw the Kings scoring 20 points while Oklahoma City Thunder
scored 30 points to win the match 102-87.
Tyreke Evans was the top scorer for the Kings bagging 22 points while the Oklahoma City Thunder saw Kevin Durant lead the pack with 24 points and was also the top scorer of the match.
