Review
When two starters outscore Tony Parker and no one in the locker room seems to mind, it is a pleasant night for the San Antonio Spurs.
At the same time when you found any of the worst team playing the best team, it helps to have a player like Blake Griffin. He played one of his best games in Clipper’s uniform, posted 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
"The next step is to make that more consistent. At first, we were not playing the way we need to, but we were working. Now we've achieved that in a few games, and we need to put that together to where we do those five out of six games." Griffin
said.
Eric Gordon added 21 points and DeAndre Jordan had a season-high 13 rebounds for Clippers.
George Hill led the Spurs with 17 points and Manu Ginobili added 15 for the Spurs in the defeat.
The Clippers headed all four sessions of the game.
The Clippers closed the first half with an 18-2 run to lead 48-40. While at the other end, the San Antonio did not score from the field in the final 5:33, missing its last 10 shots and 14 of its last 15 in shooting 34 percent for the half.
The Spurs fought hard during the third quarter to make the score a respectable one, cut the lead to three at 64-61.
The Clippers leads a 73-68, heading into fourth. The Spurs never came any closer.
Turning Point
The Clippers got it going offensively in the second quarter, closed the first half with an 18-2 run, turning an eight-point deficit into an eight-point lead.
Eric Gordon on the Seventh Heaven
The Shooting guard for Clippers, Eric Gordon had mix feelings as he is unsure why the Los Angeles Clippers are outright domineering whenever they face the NBA's incomparable team this season. He seemed to be very hopeful as he said that they would learn
something they can apply to the other 28 teams.
"Yeah, we play well against teams that have a good record," "We just have to compete like that all the time. Our offense was good, and we did not have any letdowns during the game. We just have to be consistent.” -- Gordon.
Welcome Back Baron Davis
Baron Davis posted 7 points and 10 assists in his return from a 10-game injury absence for the Clippers. He provided a creative, energizing presence when he came off the bench in the first quarter, racking up seven assists and five points in the first half.
