NBA and its choke artists
Kobe Bryant and Jerry West are some of the most talented players of the NBA and some that have achieved a great deal, rising to the top of their game and have become to be known as the best in business. However there are some players in NBA that are extremely talented but for some reason they haven’t achieved as expected, and have become to be known as choke artists of NBA. This article will be showing you some of the players in this regard.
LeBron James
LeBron James with his reputation as the upcoming Michael Jordon is one player who would rather be a Lakers fan keeping in mind that with the talent he possess it should have been him as the champion. Another one of the reasons for James being in the list is due to the fact of his playoff record. This extravagant powerhouse managed to drag the Cavaliers into the NBA Finals but the postseason that James has come up with this regarded by experts as disappointing. King James has until now not managed to pull off something extraordinary when it come to the playoffs.
Dirk Nowitzki
Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is another player popular for his smooth jumpers but he tends to forget his game when it comes to the playoff time. Dirks postseason averages are better than those that of his career almost every time but it’s the playoff that affects the Dallas player the most. The reason for him being in the list is due to the fact that he couldn’t manage to overturn a Miami Heat team in the Finals that according to the experts was a weak team than the Dallas Mavericks at the time.
Antawn Jamison
One of the most important assets for NBA, and with unique forward abilities, Antawn Jamison also comes in the list. Antawn doesn’t have much clutch play, which is one of the reasons for him under-achieving. When the Cavs couldn’t get Amar’e, the Cavs thought that Antawn could play that role. However this idea failed miserably. Antawn was suffering from the worst average in every department of his game play at the time, when the Cavs had their way to the playoffs that ultimately led to disappointment for him and the Cavs.
Vince Carter
Vince Carter is one of many players in NBA who loves to take control of the game, when it goes down to the wire but for some reason isn’t able to do so. The only success that he can taste is if “the game” is a dunk contest according to experts. After the 2005-06 season, the most prolific scorers in the game saw the average fall after the regular season ended. Vince Carter is a player who is content on concentrating on one thing but when he fails, then comes a whole lot of problems. However if Vince can manage to get back to the old days, he can surely come out of this list of choke artists without a doubt.
Jermaine O’Neal
Jermaine O’Neal is another player due to the fact that during the playoffs last season his average fell from 13.6 points to 4.2 points, and his shooting fell to a terrible 20% against the Celtics. Keeping in mind that Dwyane Wade needed someone to just assist him, Jermaine was certainly not that guy. It’s just that when it comes to the crunch time, he loses it.
Shawn Marion
Shawn Marion is another Miami player who was bought thinking that he would assist Wade. But this was not the case as Shawn was only fit for Cash for Clunkers. After being brought into the Miami Heat team in 2007, Shawn’s average started falling after every season. This physically untouchable player, as experts said against the Spurs, failed as his shooting let him down during the playoffs. Shawn Marion failed to grab the opportunity and saw his averages go down considerably in the playoffs.
Tracy McGrady
Topping the list of the chokers in the NBA is Tracy McGrady. After signing for Detroit Pistons, Tracy became a part of the Detroit thinking of just improving on the regular season rather than the playoffs. Tracy, according to many experts is in the list because of him not being able to advance nowadays. Although Tracy was a key part in the teams that made to the playoffs when he was with Orlando and Houston, Tracy at the time couldn’t manage to pull it off. Although experts say that this star player has got all the talent in the world to be a champion but it’s just that at critical moments he doesn’t have the momentum.
