The National Basketball Association (NBA) of USA will be in India from July 3 this year. http://sports.in.msn.com/stories/article.aspx?cp-documentid=1368938

How do you see the development?

(I know this is Cricket section, but I assume no Indian will respond if I post it in Basketball, right?)

  1. It will surely help with the development and participation of basketball in India. And I'm sure that will help it become more popular.

I'm not sure that it will ever be on a par with other sports played in India though (like cricket and hockey).

  2. It will defenitely help in the development of Basket Ball in India.

  3. dude i hate cricket

and i m an indian too

unfortunately our country is under the influence of the so called "the gentlemen's game"

    i give a d**n !

NBA is coming and we shld give our full support to promote it

but dont think it will help much

    best of luck !!!!!!!

  4. Really tough for American sports to really catch on in the rest of the world. NFL's trying to gain popularity with their annual game at Wembly in England, but it'll never be able to take football's place over there.

I really can't see Basketball growing into anything substansial in such a cricket-crazy country. Not to mention the IPL's 20/20 opening game that 12 million viewers tuned in to watch when the India/Aus ODI series could only get 6 million viewers.

  5. Basketball is a load of bollocks for tall Americans.

You can keep it mate.  We don't want it

  6. It will definitely encourage youngsters to play basketball

  7. what the h**l does this have to do with cricket this is basketball dirkface

  8. it does not effect the craze of cricket in india

  9. sike

  10. You mean to say that you actually have people tall enough in India to play basketball...
