NBA lockout is hurting Miami Heat - Part 3
Less time training together:
Miami heat offense was no way near to what was expected after the addition of the giant LeBron James in the team. The quick breaks were probably the most dominant aspect of the offense we had ever witnessed before, but the half
court offense was just not sufficient enough keeping in mind Miami had three rosters on the team claim majority of their score from close to the rim.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have been playing with each other for a while now. Though the duo has done wonders in past but in their presence, no other team mate gets a chance to thrive because those players unlike these both rely
on passes to score.
The first season was just to provide an experience to the trio how to play with each other and second one would have provided them enough time together on court to get used to each other game play. It would have also worked for
other players in the team by teaching them to thrive as team mates rather than individuals.
Hard cap issue:
One of the major subjects other than the BRI split issue hindering any progress in the NBA lockout is the hard cap issue which can prove to be an absolute disaster for every team.
Unlike a soft cap, which provides every team the leverage to make prominent signings on instances, a hard cap not only prohibits it but creates restrictions as to how much a team could spend.
Miami Heat have already spent a colossal $40 millions on acquiring the “Big Three” besides the $ 6 million that goes to Mike Miller and $ 3 million that go to Joel Anthony and Udonis Haslem.
Hard cap is going to hurt Miami in acquiring the free agents when the lockout ends. The team that is already looking for a stable centre and a point guard would be doomed because with hard salary cap, they will not be allowed to
spend more than a limited amount on acquiring new players.
Teams like Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks are amongst the heavy spenders in the league and this is the reason, their teams are loaded with the best players in NBA.
After last season’s final loss, Heat are already surrounded with problems and this hard cap issue is only going to amplify their headache.
