NBA opening day will see three exciting games: NBA Update
Finally, the fans got to hear what they have been praying for a long time, as National Basketball Association Commissioner David Stern declared on Saturday that 2011-12 season will begin from December 25, 2011.
However, this will only happen, if both the players and owners are able to ratify an accord on new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Addressing the media person, NBA commissioner David Stern said, “We’ve reached a tentative understanding. (The deal) is subject to a variety of approvals and very complex machinations. We’re optimistic that will all come to pass
and the NBA season will begin Dec. 25.”
Although, the schedule of the games is not clear yet, but if the season tips off on December 25, then the fans will most probably get to see three exciting match ups between the top teams of the NBA.
The first game will take place between the star studded line-up of the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics in New York City. The Knicks will be looking to settle their scores with Boston, as the C’s threw them out from the race
to the title in the first-round of the 2011 playoffs. The fans of both teams must be eager to see this encounter.
After the New York and Boston’s game, the most anticipated match up will take place between the finalists of the previous NBA Finals - Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat. The game which will bbe telivised will witness the big three
trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh attempting to avenge their NBA finals meltdown against Dirk Nowitzki and his Dallas Mavericks.
The final game of the day will take place between Chicago Bulls and the former champions Los Angeles Lakers. Both teams will look forward to make a good start, especially the Lakers, whose season ended on a very bad note after
they lost 4-0 to the Mavs in the second round of the postseason.
Hopefully, these three games will draw lot of attention, so the NBA season wouldn’t have to see the same attention draught which other leagues had witnessed after their lockout came to an end.
