NBA ousted records 2010-11 (Part 2)

Continuing with the records that are expected to break next season we have the free throw attempts made record next.
Most free throw attempts in a playoff game
Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic is not the best foul shooter in the NBA and it’s no secret. Howard has a 59.5 foul shooting percentage thus far. This player has the potential to increase on this given that he has superb shooting
abilities. Even though he is not such a successful free throw shooter like Shaquille O’Neal, some analysts say that he is the second Shaq in this department. This is simply because like Shaq, Howard shows his presence in the area with dominance but when it
comes to foul shooting, the success rate is less.
Some even say that one way to stop the Magic’s from scoring is that you foul Howard non-stop which would mean that he would miss and the score would come to a halt. The reason for him coming up with this record is that Howard is
excellent when the game is free flowing, but when fouled he seems to lose the touch.
The record of most free throw attempts made in a playoff game is held by Shaquille O’Neal with 39. Given the talent of Dwight Howard, his poor shooting from the line that is the only way to stop him, he is expected to make 42 attempts.
Quickest disqualification
Though this record has very slim chances of breaking but still with the little odds of breaking it is worth mentioning it.
Now that the NBA has asked the referees to be more strict to players when they come screaming at them, you might be wondering who is the player going to the referees screaming for call?
The first name that comes in the mind is of the Los Angeles Lakers centre/power forward Pau Gasol. Whenever this player misses a shot, Pau is heard screaming and yelling, and when it comes to a wrong call by the officials then
the way he screams makes you feel that he has been shot; such is the intensity of his foul calls.
However, this season the rules are a little tougher on such players and Pau may not get away with this any longer. If he loses in the early stages of the match then don’t be surprised to see this player being ejected out of the
match. Though there are other players in the NBA who might be subject to this but Pau Gasol is expected to go off as early as the 2nd minute. This would beat Bubba Wells’s record of quickest disqualification in the 3rd minute.
Most three-pointers made in a playoff game
Allen Ray of the Boston Celtics proved this season that it’s not age that helps you excel in basketball but determination to reach new heights of success. Working tirelessly during the last season he managed to tie himself of the
most three pointers in a single playoff game.
The record is shared among 3 men Rex Chapman, Vince Carter and Ray Allen with 9. Ray Allen has developed into a deadly long range shooter and focuses more on bagging three pointers more than anything else.
Ray Allen is one of those players who make an opening for himself. The unique and excellent ability of running around in circles before he make a shot is one that helps him to bag so many points. Not only, Ray Allen has another
one of the great abilities to protect the ball from players and provide the ball to players in open positions.
One of the recent dominating performances of this player was during the Game 2 of the recent NBA Finals when Ray Allen managed to score 8 three pointers out of the 11 attempts made.
With only a few years of career left to play, Ray Allen would surely be looking break the record and write his names in the history books too. He is expected to score 11 three pointers.
