NBA preseason – New York Knicks win 125-113 against the Armani Jeans Milano

The preseason opener saw the New York Knicks up against the Armani Jeans Milano in the Mediolanum Forum, Milan, Italy this Sunday. Amare’ Stoudemire was seen playing in his first game and dominated the proceeding from the start of the game.
1st quarter
When the game started, the New York Knicks were the first to score through a spectacular Amare’ Stoudemire dunk. The Armani Jeans Milano was able to tie the score through S. Mancille’s jump hook shot. With some good play, the New York Knicks were able to
bag 2 three pointers in two successive plays. The first came through Danilo Gallinari and the second was a result of Wilson Chandler shot.
In the 8th minute, the New York Knicks got 2 free throws by a foul on Amare’ Stoudemire, which he successfully bagged. Right at the death of the first quarter, M. Mordenti was fouled that took him to the foul line. He managed to bag both free
throws, and the score at the end of the first quarter was 26-23 in favour of the New York Knicks.
2nd quarter
As soon as play resumed, the Armani Jeans Milano scored in the 13th second through S. Mancille that put then just 1 point behind the Knicks. The beginning of the 2nd quarter saw many fouls that resulted in multiple free throws for both
teams.
This continued until almost first half of the period, but then the New York Knicks got hold of the game and came up with some decent plays. Firstly, they scored through Danilo Gallinari’s three-pointer. Gillinari continued his lethal shooting, when he was
fouled and scored twice from the free throw line. The New York Knicks managed to tie the score through a spectacular driving dunk by Stoudemire. From then onwards the quarter became more like the start, with many fouls. Both teams were content on stopping
the opposition as a result players were frequently seen on the free throw line. At the end of the 2nd period, the score was 58-52 in favour of the Knicks.
3rd period
The Armani Jeans Milano was able to score again at the start of the 3rd period through D. Hawkins. The Knicks responded to this by bagging 6 points consecutively and took the score to 64-54 in their favour.
However, the Armani Jeans Milano started a comeback of their own when they bagged 2 consecutive 3 pointers by J. Maciulis. This bought them close with the score on 66-60, just 6 points gap.
But once again it was the New York Knicks who shifted gears and through splendid plays were able to outclass the Italian team. The Knicks dominated the play in the department of passing to widespread shooting from long to short range. This effectively put
them in the lead of 12 points at the end of the 3rd period with the score on 91-79.
4th quarter
This time it was the New York Knicks who got the first blood when they scored in the opening 9 seconds of the period through a fabulous three-pointer by Bill Walker.
The 4th period was dominated by Anthony Randolph who regularly came up with points. He was seen everywhere on court, while scoring from the free throw line, driving in and a brilliant slam dunk in the 9th minute that took the score
to 100-82 in favour of the Knicks. While the Armani Jeans Milano was scoring from free throws, the New York Knicks were able to bag three-pointers on a regular basis with the occasion slum dunk.
At the end of the final period, the New York Knicks won the match with the score 125-113 and Amare’ Stoudemire scoring 32 points, 3 assists and 5 turn-overs. Oleksiy Pecherov was the top scorer for the Armani Jeans Milano as he scored 23 points.
