NBA teams not bound any success in the coming season – Feature Part 2
2. Orlando Magic
The second team on the list of teams bound to have a lacklustre next season are the Orlando Magic.
They may have put an end to the Dwight Howard saga which had plagued their organization for the past year or so. But the current group of players present at their disposal cannot guarantee them success next season.
As part of a four team block buster trade which saw them trade Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Magic did come out on the bad end. However it is not trading away Howard for role players is not the cause for putting
them in a bad situation.
It is the moves they had been making even before the Howard deal was materialized. They had let go Ryan Anderson to the New Orleans Hornets earlier in the summer and traded away Jason Richardson in the block buster trade last week.
In a matter of few months, Orlando parted with three of their best players in order to start a re-building process. But is the present group of players good enough to ensure them progress on their way.
The only three experienced players on the roster from the team which made it to the NBA Finals are Jameer Nelson, J.J. Redick and Hedo Turkoglu. As part of the trade, Arron Afflalo came over with Al Harrington and combined with
Glen Davis, the Magic hope to start their re-building process.
However this current combination of players is only bound to fail in their attempt to glory. As good as these players may be, they are only capable of playing defined roles on teams and are not capable of leading a team like Orlando
into their re-building process.
The aura of uncertainty revolving around this Magic unit is at a all time high and coming from parting ways with their franchise face is going to be pretty hard. Even if they are able to stay aboard their ambitious attempt to recover,
there is no guarantee that the new regime of the organization will work as a lot of things have changed in the past few months.
Orlando has a new manager in form of Rob Hennigan and has trusted their faith in Jacque Vaughn to be their new head coach. Vaughn may be pretty experienced from his time in the NBA but this will be his first ever stint as head
coach and who knows what the new system would be like in the coming season.
The only thing which is certain about this Orlando team that they are not likely to even make it to the playoffs next season and a have a long route ahead before they could actually crawl their way back into contention.
