NBA teams not bound any success in the coming season – Feature Part 3
A lot of NBA teams have luck in their favour as their trade acquisition have only made them better for the coming season but there are a few organizations who are only going downwards in the coming season.
3. Houston Rockets
The third team on the list of teams that look to have an unsuccessful coming season are the Houston Rockets.
Rockets have been one of the busiest teams during the summer but some of their plans did not pan out as they would have liked. One of the rumoured destinations for Dwight Howard was the Rockets but they were unable to land the
All-star centre that went over to the Los Angeles Lakers.
However that did not stop Houston for making some of the talked about moves during the summer, they went ahead to make a bid for Jeremy Lin and after the New York Knicks declined to match the offer go their hands on the Linsanity
phenomenon.
But the Rockets did not stop there and went ahead to acquire Omer Asik as the Chicago Bulls chose not to match the offer made for the Turkish big man. The Rockets did get their fair share of criticism for luring out other franchises
key pieces but they too want success in their favour and went on to splash some cash to achieve their goals.
However the plan from the Rockets may backfire on them as they may have chosen the wrong players to spend their cash on. Firstly the acquiring of Jeremy Lin is not justified as he only found glory in 26 games for the Knicks last
season and has not proven to be strong enough to last a whole season.
On the other hand, they landed Asik – a big man who is reluctant to score and is only known for his defensive prowess.
So are the Rockets bound any success with these two players? The answer to the question could have been a yes had they not gotten rid of Luis Scola who was their best player in the past two seasons.
As the current situation stands, the Rockets are not looking promising for the coming season and do not look to be getting out of NBA’s middle ground any time soon.
