NBA update: First Half Analysis: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Memphis Grizzlies
First Quarter
Following the ritual of ball throwing between both the teams, the ball was jumped between Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. Ray Allen dunked in to gain possession of the ball for the Memphis Grizzlies. He, however, missed the jump shot he tried to make for his
team. Bynum rebounded the ball for the Lakers and Gasol grabbed a jump shot to clinch the first two points for Lakers.
(Grizzlies) Tony Allen made a layup shot as Marc Gasol pulled out an assist to tie the scores 2-all. M. Gasol committed a shooting foul for the Grizzlies and Bynum (Lakers) grabbed one of the free throws provided, 5-4.
Bynum grabbed an alley-oop dunk shot and Kobe Bryant jumped forward to give his teammate an assist to further the scores by 7-4. However, after some serious play by both teams, Rudy g*y’s jump shot assisted by M. Gasol tied the scores at 9-all.
Later at 03.37 on the clock the scores were tied again on 13-all; however, the Grizzlies took the lead by five points by the end of 1st quarter, 23-18.

Second Quarter
It was Steve Blake’s three pointer shot that earned the Lakers triple points at the very start of the second quarter. Darrell Arthur missed a jump shot for the Grizzlies and Shannon Brown rebounded the ball immediately for the Lakers. Brown then gave a bad
pass to the Grizzlies. However, as soon as O.J Mayo (Grizzlies) missed a jump shot, Brown clinched a three pointer for the Lakers.
Matt Barnes clinched a mighty three pointer for the Lakers, giving them 27-28. Brown committed a shooting foul at 6 minutes in the second half and Arthur grabbed the free throw provided. This edged past the Grizzlies further, 34-27.
Hasheem Thabeet’s (Grizzlies) shooting foul with 5 minutes left invoked two free throw attempts from Bryant. The Lakers edged 32-38. Bryant’s three pointer assisted by Derek Fisher closed the Lakers to the Grizzlies. Fisher’s jump shot assisted by Artest
evened the scores even further, 37-38.
The Grizzlies, however, were not very generous about handing over the lead. They kept the lead to themselves and Zach Randolph and Mike Conley both delivered some good shots to dominate the end of first half, 46-39.
