NBA’s Recent Best performances, 23 February (Part 2)
Anthony and Douglas in Knicks victory against Milwaukee Bucks
In Carmelo Anthony’s debut match Toney Douglas scored a whopping 23 points as the player came from off the bench on a 10-for-12 shooting from the field. Anthony himself recorded 27 points and added 10 rebounds to sum up New York Knicks’ highest rating in
a regular season game at the Madison Square Garden.
The audience cheered on every move that Melo made and the player was quoted as saying, “Just to get this 'W' tonight, that meant the world to me.”
Love’s run at the double-double road
Kevin Love recorded his 44th straight double-double and tied Moses Malone’s record by doing so. The top rebounder of NBA had 15 points and 11 rebounds in the game and is on the verge of breaking Malone’s longest streak of 51 double-doubles. The
player wanted to get over with the double-double and was quoted as saying, “ I was like 'Okay, I'd love to tie this thing', but in a lot of ways I was like 'I just wish this thing would end so I could go out there and just start playing again.'"
Mavericks’ tenacious shooting
Dallas Mavericks excelled to their fifth straight above 50 per cent shooting from the field. They recorded season-high 57.9 per cent shooting and had their longest streak recorded since the previous one they had from 28 March through 8 April, 2008. The team
went 10-for-20 from the long range and knocked 50 per cent in that aspect.
Dallas’ coach Rick Carlisle was later quoted as saying, "It's a good team even without Deron Williams. They had only one point guard so they had some makeshift line-ups, but they can play. It was a win we needed to get."
Gortat- the Polish Hammer
Marcin Gortat recorded a double-double for the Phoenix Suns in the win against the Atlanta Hawks. The player scored 13 points along with 12 rebounds during his 32 minutes on the court. Gortat hit the foul line perfectly and sealed 3-of-3 free throws in the
win.
Green’s resolve to win at home
Willie Green made sure that the New Orleans Hornets take the victory at home. The player held the Hornets up in the victory by adding 10 of his 17 extreme points in the second last quarter of the game. He shot a fully charged 7-of-11 from the field and also
added two 3-pointers.
Bryant- Los Angeles Lakers
Who else can dominate the floor when Kobe Bryant is there? The Black Mamba made sure that no one plays better than him. He was just 4-for-15 in the first half but later progressed to 10-of-16 shooting from the field. He scored 37 points and was just one
rebound shy of a shiny double-double. The 32-year-old was the best overall.
