NBA’s most dominating players in history (Part 4)
Coming to the end of the list of unstoppable players it’s not hard to say that all these players have achieved a lot during their career. Some date back to many years and the only thing that makes us remember them is their hard work and determination that led them to the position they are in today.
Continuing the list, we have Shaquille O’Neal, who came into the NBA about 18 years ago in 1992. As a draft pick for the Orlando Magic, he was one of the most dominating players, who used to dunk on any player who came in his way. Nobody in the league had the idea or any clue as to how to stop this 7 feet giant who weighs 300 pounds. The league had seen players over the past few years but they hadn’t seen one as dominating as Shaq. Shaq, according to experts, was the second most dominating player, first being Wilt Chamberlain.
Now, this giant is not the demolishing machine that he once was due to the fact that he is 38-years old. However, experts still favour Shaq to win his sixth title with his new team, the Boston Celtics.
However, if you go back to the dominating days of his career you would see this player coming up with quick and fast spins and then jumping towards the rim and ending the move by dunking the ball and shaking not only rim but also the board. Shaq with the power and strength that he has once broke the fibre glass board after dunking which shows the level of power that this extravagant player has. The formidable player was able to win the scoring title twice in 1995 and then in 2000. The average that he maintained both times he won the scoring title was just under the 30 points per game mark.
Experts say that a list of unstoppable players without the inclusion of Kareem Abdul Jabbar would be foolish to devise. Kareem was one of the top players and still is the leading scorer in the NBA to date. This extravagant player according to experts had the most effective and destructive shot in the history of the NBA, the Sky Hook. He mastered this shot to such an extent that the technical part of the shot hasn’t been able to be duplicated by anyone making him a unique player in the NBA. This spectacular player represented two teams during his time in the NBA. He played for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers.
This splendid player was able to develop his scoring and shooting abilities and managed to master them to such an extent that he shot 55.9 percent from the field during his career and was able to lead the scorers in the NBA twice. The first time he led the scoring was during the 1970-71 season and then again in the following 1971-72 season.
This superb player had the best of techniques according to the experts and was a great team man. He had a great game and could easily have shown attitude to the management. But the thing that impresses the experts is that he was a very humble person, who did all he could to make people laugh and help the team win. He improved on his performance each time he got on court so as to benefit his team in the best possible manner.
He is one player who always looked in great form and used to run on court with great determination to win and the desire to improve every time he went on court. His runs on court along with Magic Johnson led to a show for the Lakers fans that they couldn’t afford missing.
