NBA’s recent best performances
Ten games took place in the NBA on 9 February, 2011. 20 different teams confronted each other across the country in different venues and different courts. There were some players and teams, who outclassed the others in those clashes. What follows
is an overview of those stand-out performances.
Stuckey in Detroit Pistons leap over Cleveland Cavaliers
Rodney Stuckey hit the court with a low 6-for-16 from the field. But the player went a tenacious 8-for-10 from the free throw line scoring 22 points for the winners. Will Bynum, the backup guard went 6-for-10 from the field and threw a perfect 4-for-4 from
the line.
Both players exerted all efforts and did not remain idle. They would dish out assists to teammates when their scoring went cool. They helped the Pistons covering 9-for-19 from the deep.
Indiana Pacers under the meaningful coaching of Frank Vogel
Ever since the Pacers went under the interim coaching of Vogel, Indiana is shining. They have progressed to new heights since Vogel has joined them. The team moved to their fifth victory out of the six games they have played along with the new coach.
The Pacers have made a remarkable improvement and it showed as they leaped ahead in a 104-103 jump over the Charlotte Bobcats. He believes in the young players and they are making his beliefs come true.
Dwight Howard in Orlando Magic’s 99-95 trick over Philadelphia
Howard was hot! The Magic’s center sealed 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the winners. The player shot a fully charged 8-for-13 from the field and was seen going 14-for-19 from the free throw line.
The All-Star center recorded a 57.9 per cent shooting from the line. The Philadelphia 76ers, Coach Stan Van Gundy, later appreciated the opposition’s star as he said, "The big difference is Howard stepped to the line and made his free throws. You have to
give him credit".
DeRozan in Toronto Raptors’ loss to Spurs, 111-100
He had the best performance he could give. The Raptors guard pulled out 25 points for the second time this season against the San Antonio Spurs. He went 10-for-18 in shooting from the field and sorted out a 5-for-7 from the free throw line. He had more to
give to the Raptors, as he started off with an 8-for-8 shooting from the field and posted 16 points in the first half alone.
Nick Young in Wizards 100-85 win over Milwaukee Bucks
Nick Young was hot as the Washington Wizards broke the ice surrounding them and came out of a season-high eight-game losing streak. The Wizards guard went 10-for-19 from the shooting line toppling over the opposition in three dunks and clinched 26 points
along with four boards.
Foye’s tenacious 24 at Clipper’s assault of the Knicks
Randy Foye had a better solution for the Los Angeles Clippers. The player secured a whopping season-high 24 points in the breakthrough victory over the New York Knicks. He added 17 of the total in the final quarter and finished on a 4-for-7 shooting from
the three-point line.
Chicago Bulls and the opposing Jazz at Utah
The Bulls as a whole were a detrimental squad against the Utah Jazz. They held the opposition to just 86 points in the loss. They were their defensive selves as they confronted the Jazz team on the court but still Raja Bell went with 11 points and Al Jefferson
made a whopping 26 points on a 12-for-19 shooting from the field.
