NBC Sports arranges gathering of Sergei Liakhovich, Bryant Jennings and Tomasz Adamek - Boxing news
NBC Sports Network recently announced the inclusion of two prolific heavyweight bouts in their upcoming Fight Night television series which will broadcast Sergei Liakhovich vs. Bryant Jennings and Tomasz Adamek's clash with an opponent still to be decided.
The bouts have been added in the March 24, 2012 fight card of Friday Night television show. Liakhovich, former WBO heavyweight champion, will exchange his fists with Bryant Jennings in a 10-round non-title bout. The 35-year-old is coming from a huge loss
to Robert Helenius in which he was unable to collect the WBA and WBO Intercontinental titles.
Currently Liakhovich, infamous as the ‘White Wolf’ resides at 54th position in world heavyweight rankings. The orthodox Liakhovich has been in a total 29 bouts and grabbed victories in 25 of them.
While sharing his views about the current engagement Sergei said, “I am glad to be fighting on NBC Sports Network. I look forward to my fight with Jennings. I like fighting guys who appreciate a challenge like me. I am in great shape and can’t wait to get
back in the ring.”
The White Wolf has not only nailed many fecund pugilists in his career but also snatched titles from them as well. He has stood against names such as Shannon Briggs, Evans Quinn, Dominick Guinn, and Lamont Brewster. Hailing from Belarus the White wolf is
famous for his aggressive and ‘always ready to take on’ style. Despite of this fact he has an average knockout percentage of 55.17.
Jennings on the other hand is a 27-year-old lad who is on a continue winning streak and lacks in experience as compared to the Belarusian Wolf. The American Bryant has been in a total 12 bouts and nailed all his opponents.
He has collected only five of his wins by knock out and secures a kayo ratio of 41.67%. His knockout ability and experience lags behind Liakhovich substantially. The only aspect that might give the young man an upper hand over his hardcore opponent is his
resilience. Jennings in his last encounter against Maurice Byarm collected the Pennsylvania heavyweight title.
Russell Peltz, promoter Bryant Jennings, excited at the match up commented, “We feel we should strike while the iron is hot. Why go backwards after the win over Byarm?” Tomasz Adamek, the world number four heavyweight pugilist will also enter the ring to
take on an opponent who is still to be decided.
Adamek, has been in a total 46 bouts and has lost only two of his clashes. Infamous as the ‘Goral’, the Polish Adamek boasts a knockout ratio of 60.87%. The epic event will be headlined by the clash between Zab Judah and Vernon Paris and has definitely become
a pay-per-view must to be seen.
