NBC sports network, Go Daddy.com join hands to televise inaugural fight night show – Boxing news
NBC sports network has arranged all the necessary means and sources to kick off its inaugural fight night series which will include boxing matches as well. The channel has finalised the launch of its inaugural show on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
The maiden show will be an epic one since it is being heavily supported by sponsors like Go Daddy.com. Go Daddy is the world’s largest web hosting, domain provider and registration organisation that had approximately 45 million domains under its management
by the end of 2010.
Go Daddy’s management will, for the very first time, place its entrepreneur feet in the ring. The provider does not have any prior experience pertaining to sponsoring boxing or any other sports events. This is the first time Go Daddy has decided to become
the presenting sponsor of NBC’s Saturday night Fight Night series.
The collaboration between the two will definitely enable NBC to publicise its Saturday night series in a very convincing and assertive way.
Initially, the arrangements for this first show faced a bit mishaps when the heavyweight main event bout was jeopardised by Eddie Chambers' career threatening rib injury. The injury was substantial and the personal physicians of the heavyweight icon advised
him to evade from taking on Sergei Liakhovich who is famous for pounding his opponent’s stomach and ribs.
The announcement by Eddie, almost a week ago, did create problems for the management that tried its level best to find an appropriate opponent for Sergei, but later on it was decided to completely drop the bout and make the previously co-main event fight
as the current main event.
The current main event will now be headlined by two prolific boxers who are yet undefeated in their career. The fans will witness in a non-title bout with undefeated streaks on the line, Bryant Jennings take on Maurice Byarm, whereas the other brawl will
be between welterweights Gabriel Rosado and Jesus Soto-Karass. Both the bouts will be of 10 rounds each.
When asked to comment on the recent dynamic and prosperous deal with Go Daddy.com, Jon Miller, President of programming for NBC Sports and NBC Sports Network, said, “Go Daddy has been a great partner of ours and we're excited to team up with them to launch
the Fight Night Series.”
The Saturday night extravaganza will be staged at Asylum Arena in Philadelphia. The first show will also have the honour of witnessing the famous iconic trainer Freddie Roach and cruiserweight contender BJ Flores do the commentary in the broadcaster’s room
alongside NBC’s veteran broadcaster Kenny Rice.
