NC Drivers Permit info

Question

I have a NC permit which i got march 2008, I know that you have to have your permit for a year before you can get your license but on my permit the expiration date is January 2009. Is the permit supposed to expire before i'v had it for a year and am i allowed to go take my road test to get my license cause i was told that i could take it when my permit expires??

A couple of things could have happened.

1. You started testing in January.

2. A motor vehicle department mistake.

3. Your birth date is in January.

4. Or call and ask to be on the safe side.
