NCL Pride of Aloha Hawaiian 7 day cruise?

My fiance and I are going on this cruise in August. Any tips or reviews about this from people who have gone on it in the past?

I've been on about 10 cruises.. including the 11 night NCL Hawaiian cruise (the one that includes Fanning Island).  I hate to be negative, but I really didn't enjoy this cruise at all.  Coming from the East Coast, the flights were long & expensive.  The islands are more modernized than I enjoy... we took tours to plantations, snorkling, & passed Walmarts & McDonalds left & right.  The atmosphere on the cruise wasn't "fun, party, kick back & relax" like the carribean.  On the days at sea, I expected an Island Band to be playing, but they just played soft rock over the speakers.  It was geared towards a much older crowd.  

After the cruise, we stayed 1 night in Wikikki beach.  I'd stay there again, but never do a HI cruise again.

Just my opinions...

Bring a lot of patience.  NCL America has beautiful ships and you'll be sailing to some fantastic ports.

However, NCL America has been plagued with staffing isssues.  As a result it's not uncommon for cabins to cleaned late, food service to be slow and restaurant's to be closed.

That being said, with some patience and understanding that this isn't like any other cruise available, you'll have a really good time.
