Nearest The Pin most likely to thrive in Flyingbolt Novice Chase at Navan
Nearest The Pin, has an obvious chance to seal victory in the Flyingbolt Novice Chase, taking place at Navan on Sunday, February 19, 2012.
The going is yielding to soft and seven fast and furious contestants will be seen in action, racing for a purse worth €24,375.
The runners competing in this race are:
CARLOSWAYBACK
DELPHI MOUNTAIN
DONNAS PALM
FAR AWAY SO CLOSE
FOILDUBH
NEAREST THE PIN
WESTMEATH
Paul Nolan has a strong representation in this competition, as Carloswayback,
Far Away So Close, and Westmeath, all are trained by the veteran conditioner.

However, the first position is leaning towards Tony Martin, who will be represented by Nearest The Pin.
The seven-year-old’s last win came back in April 2011, when he defeated Princeton Plains, in the Family Day At Fairyhouse Novice Handicap Hurdle.

Victories seem to have dried up for the exciting horse, but considering his recent performances, one can expect him to do something special in this race.
The gelding is stepping in after a decent break, and will be fresh and full of energy.

He made his last outing on December 29, when he finished as the runner-up in the Ballymaloe Country Relish Beginners Chase.

Navan is relatively a hard surface track, and it will favour Nearest The Pin’s running style.
Despite the fact that everything is going in his favour, Tony Martin’s trainee cannot take anything for granted.

Carloswayback will also fancy his chances, as he is coming into this race with a win under his belt.
The spectators at Punchestown saw him demonstrate a brilliant show in the 49 Euro Punchestown Hospitality Beginners Chase on January 14.

The seven-year-old outclassed Gates Of Rome by a reasonable margin of four lengths to nab his third success in flat racing.

Since the colt is coming into this competition after a classy win, he will be full of confidence.
The Bookmakers are anticipating a nail-biting contest between Carloswayback, and Nearest The Pin, but Far Away So Close might post an upset.

The seven-year-old is Paul Nolan’s trainee, and will be ridden by D. N. Russell.

He has been doing a fair job over the past few months, ending up second in both of his recent outings.
In the Ryan's Event Cleaners Beginners Chase, Far Away So Close, lost the heat just by a margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
Final Prediction
This heat looks like a battle between Paul Nolan and Tony Martin.

Carloswayback and Nearest The Pin are expected to produce a close contest, but the latter seems to have a slight edge over his rival.

The Tony Martin-trained will be under Ruby Malsh, and Navan’s dry track is likely to help him.
